In which Miriam dies? I would not be against it, honestly. I am sure there are actually a lot of them out there, maybe? But I have not played too many video games that were not afraid to kill off their main protagonist, so I am always interested when I do see it.
(PS: Sorry if this is not the right board for this question, please shift it, mods, if it is not.)

I guess I can't really answer that till I know more about the characters and world but I'm not out right against it, we know there are going to be multiple endings... Though I'd like to see Miriam more then once (twice with CotM) Zangetsu I'm sure I'd love to have his own game. Though mayhaps he will be the one to sacrifice himself?

I expect the game to have multiple endings so having one in which everything goes horribly wrong would be pretty cool! Examples of this would be the bad endings for Dawn of Sorrow.

A bittersweet ending in some form? Probably, depends on the rest of the story. Above all, I hope the story is consistent, whatever happens.
An ending where Miriam dies? Probably not. I don't particularly like stories where the main character just up and dies. I can certainly think of games where the developers decision to kill the main character was one of the worst ones they did.

HertzilaWell the character doesn't have to die to be a heartbreaking ending, I won't spoil it for anyone that hasen't played it but Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice is a beyond perfect example of this concept. Most of the Metal Gear games end on emotionally crushing themes as well.

roguedragon05Which is why I specifically gave two answers. I'm not expecting Miriam to win the lottery, hit a vein of gold and be awarded half the kingdom, living the rest of her life with no hardships. Chances are, even the best ending is going to have negatives. I'd hope that the positives outweight the negatives, but I expect the negatives to be there. That said, I expect Miriam to survive the events of Bloodstained after all my efforts to keep her alive and for there to not be a twist ending that makes the entire journey pointless, be it for the sake of trying to pull my heartstrings or to "subvert my expectations". If it's revealed that everything would have been better if Gebel had won and Miriam had walked the plank, I'm going to be angry.

I'd be ok with it. I just want something that feels believable and not forced in or rushed for the sake of having it.

I liked Ecclesia’s ending, which had bittersweet ending, it leaves a mark and you remember it forever. For Bloodstained, I hope Miriam has bad ending, as I don’t like her at all, hehe

I doubt there'll be only one ending. I'm expecting the standard three. One of them will be the Bad Ending (possibly about Miriam succumbing to her curse), another will be the "Normal" Ending (likely the bittersweet one), and then finally the Good Ending (in which Miriam survives).
Heck, there could be more. And we still don't know if the 2nd & 3rd playable characters will be more than extra content; if they could possibly have their own Endings (and story involvement in general). Yeah, we know Zangetsu is involved in the story, but we don't know if we'll see story content when finally playing as him.

They confirmed multiple endings already. This discussion reminds me of a thread i did some time ago, called " Miriam and the deconstruction of Heroism", where i talked about the possibility of Miriam's adventure turn into something arduous and unexpected.

Nah, I want the best ending to be the real ending and for it to be sweet without the bitterness.
There's enough sad sh*t in life as it is. I don't need any of it in my escapism, and besides, killing off characters is hardly ever a good idea: you won't be able to use them in the future without resorting to silly plot twists.

Igarashi's games, and to a larger extent Castlevania itself, have usually been pretty bad with endings.
If they even plan anything, that might be interesting in itself. I'd be cool if the ending is a wink to what Bloodstained was pitched to publishers as, implying a more globetrotting affair. Maybe they defeat the baddies but something related to the Liber Logaieth or the Ars Goetia gives hints something else in the world is amiss.

Some unexpected truth regarding our dear main protagonist is revealed! You know that they actually did something like this in one game? It's Yasumi Matsuno's Crimson Shroud, which is part of the Guild 01 collection It was cool but also kind of infuriating... but the game was well worth it!

SOTN had a bittersweet ending, Order of Eclessia had a bittersweet ending, Portrait of Ruin had a bittersweet ending, Curse of the Moon had one too and that one isn't like the others, so I'm no stranger to that happening in Igavanias.
This story, from the little we got from it has the potential to go towards a that style of ending. Unless Iga had plans for many different protagonists in in the future, Miriam dying would be a waste. I am curious about the world building for this game though. That would determine how sequels could be made. Castlevania had Dracula rezzing every 100 years...or some asshole mage reviving him too early to get around that. Bloodstained having something similar to that might be too familiar, so I wonder if he'll go a different route.

^Shanoa definately seems to have gotten shafted pretty hard in her story/ending. At the very least, I hope she lived a peaceful life with those villagers she rescued. I hate not knowing for sure what she did after the end, or how/where she ended up.

I think a happy ending looks pretty damned unlikely given the bleakness of the beginning circumstances.
WAKE UP YOU'RE CURSED AND YOUR BROTHERGUY IS BLOWING UP THE EARTH AND TO STOP HIM YOU HAVE TO BE MORE CURSED.
Sounds fun!

Yeah, we know Zangetsu is involved in the story, but we don't know if we'll see story content when finally playing as him. I think there will be three endings as well. I think there will be a bad ending if you have too many shards, in which case Miriam is overwhelmed and becomes like Gebel while the normal ending will be "okay" but perhaps leave some questions unanswered. I would like it if the best ending required a bit of work similar to Aria of Sorrow whereby you would unlock an extra area with one final boss and a true ending.
SIDE NOTE: Am I the only one who has found the development of this game to be proceeding relatively quickly until the last month or so? It seems like the final home stretch is taking an eternity .

I really want to hunt down and collect every single shard in the game, so that sounds like a punishment for doing well and having fun.
