Games You Pre-Ordered or Looking Forward To

Well I don't know about the difference though, I don't own a console too.

Depends on the country how much steam prices compared to console prices... Brazil for example need at least 5 kids to sacrifice to dark gods for anything console related. Where I live (Canada), games brand new typically cost 60 bucks on steam and consoles alike (high budget/publicity games that is). However the next gen consoles, ps4 and xbone seem to have raised it to 70 bucks.

However steam games typically have larger sales more often than console games... typically you don't have to wait for more than half a year before you see a game go 25 to 50% off on steam. Console games rarely get any significant sales until more than a year after release, though sometimes you get lucky... Tales of Xillia went on a fairly large sale pretty quick on the psn oddly enough, 2 did as well.. Graces F on the other hand took bloody forever to get a sale.

Physical retail stores also have their own pricing mechanics for console games. I find you're best off looking at stores people don't really associate with gaming like london drugs or something. Sometimes they get relatively uncommon games, and because people don't really go there for gaming, your niche-gaming fan typically doesn't grace their game section often, so if they HAVE a niche game, they'll see it wont sell at all for awhile and will likely put it on a big discount. For example I got ps3 dragon's crown less than a year after its release for 15 bucks at london drugs... tales of xillia 2 collectors edition was also there for only 40 bucks like half a year ago. Their selection is really limited though so you can't just go there hoping for a specific game and expect to see it.. you go there, see if they have anything weird, and come back every month or so, then snag it when it goes down.

For example, right now my local london drugs has devil survivor overclocked 2 record breaker in stock.. game is still brand new so it's 60 bucks.. but I'll expect nobody will look at it for a few months, and it'll go down to like 30.

Just pre-ordered Dungeon Travelers 2. First-person dungeon crawler, Vita, cute girls, etc., etc. You know the drill.

Seriously, though, if it looks appealing to you, I highly recommend checking out the demo, it really impressed me and convinced me to pre-order, whereas otherwise I would have written this game off as "just another Vita dungeon crawler."

I'm from New Zealand and yeah that pretty much describes console game prices here. pretty much all AAA games come out priced above $100 from your generic game shop like EB games.

I do, however it's still at the "Arcade Only" phase

The collector's edition of Metal Gear Solid V, freaking Star Wars Battlefront, AND MY ALCHEMIST LOOT OF BLOODSTAINED that can't came out quick enough ;~;

Not quite preorders since none of these is buyable yet but I'm looking forward to FF7 Remake and rumored FF12 Remaster. The former because it was a game that caught my attention when I was younger but I only ever played a little bit of, the later because it's part of Ivalice series and I love those *shakes fist at SEN not releasing PS1Classic version of FFT in Europe*

Also eagerly awaiting for Disgaea 5 to drop in Europe in about two months. (Hmmm, I should finish up Disgaea 4 before that...)


Yes, yes you do Just do yourself a favor and grab a bigger drive for it straight away. Easier to swap it before using for the first time than bother with backing up the games or redownloading them.

So, Tales of Zestiria will be available to Steam some time later...
Is it good? I heard good things about the series...
