I posted a sticky thread on how to roll dice in the general section just in case people don't check this thread but still find a use for it. It will be an announcement for a couple of days then just revert to a normal sticky.
I'm going to bed and haven't tried to delete a reply in a thread to test that exploit. Maybe I can have the boards force a "so and so deleted a reply" or something like that. I can't look into it tonight though.
Well crap! I tested changes on edits... I suppose we can at least always see that a post is edited. I wonder what you did that I didn't when I tested edits.

I just changed mine three times, as a matter of fact. Go to edit post, copy one, paste it over one of the others (I put second over first). Voila! New results!

Here's hoping, because you can edit the post to look exactly the same (command-wise) but have different results. Proposed rule: All rolls must be posted as a comment by themselves, with no commentary or other text in that post, so there will be no reason to edit those roll posts save for cheating. This prevents any potential "I did edit it, but only because I spelled a word wrong" fibbing.

Either something got changed, or the universe was hiccuping while I tested originally, because my copy+paste edit exploit doesn't work now, nor does cutting the roll commands during edit, posting, editing, and pasting the commands back before posting.
This is a good thing.
Also, editing the range isn't allowed, which is also a good thing.

That's why I haven't started it yet. I'm waiting for someone to apply for at least one of the main characters before I create the actual RP thread. You WANT that? Alright, I'd like to officially submit my application to play Gebel, since I was looking forward to doing some good old antagonizing. I was gonna make an original character for that that was a demon, but if you're encouraging people to play canon characters, I'll do Gebel. I'll deliver a sample of my writing to you later today to qualify, I'd like to put some thought and effort into this. EDIT: Also I need to do some things around the house first. Sent.

Now that the site has a dice rolling system, we're going to need stats to go with it for the RP. I have decided to use the traditional Castlevania stats, but with the added element of a Speed stat to determine turn order in combat and determining whether an attack hits or misses.
Here are Ryan's starting stats as an example.
Level: 1 HP: fL7PUV6p1-100 MP: 1-100 STR: 1-20 CON: 1-20 SPD: 1-20 INT: 1-20 LCK: 1-20
Edit: Crap. I forgot to explain the stats! HP and MP are pretty self-explanatory. Strength is added to your attack roll as part of the formula to determine whetehr or not you hit a target. Constitution determines how much damage you are protected from when you get hit. Intelligence is like Strength, but for magic instead of physical attacks. Last but not least, Luck determines whether or not you score a critical hit. To score a critical, you must roll at least a 15 (counting your luck bonus) on a d20.

Last but not least, Luck determines whether or not you score a critical hit. To score a critical, you must roll at least a 15 (counting your luck bonus) on a d20. That's going to happen REALLY often for most characters. Are you sure you don't want to at least make it a 20?

Example;

Nevermind, apparently I'm a psychotic mage, it's ok for me I was going off the order of the stats as they appeared in Aria of Sorrow.

I deleted my post because you change the value from 1-20 to 1-6
Edit; LBG, No because there is no speed in aria, so in order for speed to be always in its right place there must be a statement saying we will always put it between constitution and intelligence (for example), because we can keep every other stat in the same order as aria, but we could also put speed first, last or anywhere in between if what's needed is to only follow AoS order

Now that I'm thinking about it, shouldn't there be some sort of minimum value for HP and MP, or at least HP? Liiiike... 1d50+50? Randomly rolling characters that can literally get taken out of action by stubbing their toe isn't fun.
Or even determined by starting Constitution. So like, 50 + Con x10. In which case, MP could likewise be 50 + Int x10, more or less.

That's a pathetic HP/MP level, but expected for a 16 year old female I guess... INT is low, which is accurate to her being strictly a physical fighter. I don't know how her ability will play into this, but I guess I can't include it at all?

Modification to the HP/MP stats. Everyone starts with a base HP of 100. The rolled stat is just how much extra HP/MP your character has. As for leveling, here's how it will work. Every monster has an EXP value. The stronger the monster, the more EXP it gives when you kill it. After your character gets 100 EXP, he or she levels up. When that happens, roll a d20 for your HP and MP boost, and roll a d6 for each of your stats that affect dice rolls.
