The year is 1897. Exactly 100 years since the the dark priest Shaft brainwashed Richter Belmont; and the dhampir Alucard rose from his tomb to banish both his father and the Demon Castle back into the dark void. The century-long cycle has ended, and dark powers radiate throughout the land as the full moon rises, bringing with it Dracula's Castle, and the Lord of Vampires himself. Fully rested and rejuvenated, he awakens with renewed bloodlust. Despite Alucard delivering his mother's last words, pleading him to forgive the humans for their sins, Dracula's rage is fueled by the darkened hearts and further atrocities of mankind, which had been poisoning the land since long before his revival.
Before his recent death, Richter's son bore him three grandchildren, which he had trained ceasely to fulfill the Belmont's destiny of vanquishing Dracula and protecting the land. The youngest, Jacob, was a gifted caster like his great-grandfather, Juste Belmont. His magics rivaled that of the Belnades clan, and he was quick witted and bright. The eldest, Aaron, was a powerful warrior. His nearly barbaric strength had earned him a reputation all his own, and he was an adept swordsman in his own right. Though for their prowess in their own areas of expertise, it was the middle child, Alexandra, who would inherit the clan's famous Vampire Killer whip. She was a skilled fighter, gifted with strength, agility, and faith-driven power. It was she that was chosen by the whip, and she who would bear the burden of their family's blood oath. However, that was not the only burden Alexandra had come to bear. As she grew, the townsfolk came to fear her. They did not treat her poorly, but they hardly treated her at all. For the most part, the people tended to go out of their way to avoid her. She often overheard them speaking in hushed whispers: 'The resemblance is uncanny,' sometimes it was 'That girl is dangerous,' or even '...she is cursed, be weary.' She never understood why, or what she'd done to warrant such behaviors or words, but her focus was well-kept on her studies.
On the very evening that the Demon Castle emerged from the fog, the trio set out on their quest to fulfill their destiny. The townspeople had gathered to see them off, and Alexandra was surprised that many of them seemed downright worried for her. They shook her hand, patted her shoulder, and she could have sworn she heard one of them speak as they were walking away: '...the poor dear won't be coming back from this.' Their lack of faith in her only fueled her desire to prove herself.Traveling through the dark, dense forest, the siblings finally reach the lakeside and make their final preparations. There was no turning back now. Making their way to the castle gates after crossing the massive drawbridge, the trio were tested the moment they set foot on that chaotic ground. The castle itself trembled, the entire cliffside wracked with tremors as a storm began to build overhead. Lightning arced across the sky, splitting the clouds themselves wide open and revealing the monstrosity of the inverted castle looming high above them. Between the two Clock Towers the storm continued to rage, a single bolt striking betwixt the two castles at that point. A wave of temporal energy swept across the land, bringing the Belmonts to their knees. Even despite all of the darkness they currently faced, the three of them knew that their mission was now somehow impossibly more complicated than before. Time and space have been torn asunder, and both friend and foe long gone, and yet to come, have been drawn to this place. Expect the unexpected, they were told; but nothing had prepared them for this.The doors to the castle open ominously, awaiting the entry of those foolish enough to try to brave its dangers. Do you bask in the grace of God's light? Or do you walk amongst the shadows? The time has come to enter Dracula's Castle, and reveal your soul.... |

Well, the thread title says it all, but for those of you who don't understand, or have never done a forum-based RP, imagine that you're writing a story, only you're taking turns writing it with other people! You choose a character to play, from ANY of the Castlevania plotlines, as this is going to be a multi-Vania-verse! We will also be accepting OCs (original, fan-created characters), so long as they do not clash with any canon (pre-established stories or characters)! As a reminder, it may take me a while to get this thread set up entirely. I work fulltime, and my hours are erratic and strange. Apologies ahead of time for those of you who are anxious to see what this will be like! ADDENDUM - I am aware that this particular RP takes place during the Stoker's Novel timeline, and that the novel is technically considered canon. This is all from an alternate universe/timeline perspective, where eventually rifts in space/time will open up throughout the Castle, allowing the different worlds and times to interact. STANDARDS
Please PM any 'reserves' to me. If you choose to play a canon character, I expect you to be able to pull off that character convincingly. I am VERY scrutinous and VERY difficult to impress when it comes to canon characters. I've spent the better part of my years RPing canon characters myself, and in order to play them, you need to adopt a bit of mental 'method-acting', for lack of a better explanation. If you can convince me that you're suitable for the role, it's yours! RULES- Respect your fellow players at all times. I'm not asking you to be super-best buddies with everyone. There may even be a good chance that not everyone gets along, but I have ZERO tolerance, or patience for drama. No god-modding or auto-hitting, etc. And there will be no killing another's character without their permission. That being said, not even Death can dodge EVERY attack thrown at him. No one is immune to everything. Fairplay = fun! Also for the record, no one is to play another person's' character without their expressed permission. This is including, but not limited to: dialogue, interactions, etc. We're here to interact, afterall, not just write a glorified fanfiction. The wonder and enjoyment of it comes from taking turns and giving people the chance to play their characters as they should be. If you try to force a situation, it loses the fun and the wonder of the RP experience.

- Regarding posting...I'm not expecting you to write a novel with every post. You may find that some situations require a lengthy reply/reaction, whereas some may only muster a couple paragraphs from you, and that's fine too. You don't have to spend 20 minutes writing up the perfect description of how your character brushes their hair, for example. If you can get it done in a couple sentences, cool. That being said, I would expect a marginal level of literacy, and at the very least, a BASIC grip and understanding of the English language. There will be no 1337 speak, or internet/texting 'shorthand' being used in this RP. The word is spelled 'y-o-u'. As you can clearly see, there are in fact 3 letters, not 1. ; )
- Regarding activity... I don't expect you to post every day. But I would hope you can manage at least one post every 4-5 days. If I (I have the attention span of a lab rat on crack) can juggle multiple RPs on top of this one, playing multiple characters in each, anyone can. If you're going to be away for a given period of time, let me know, and we'll put your character on 'hiatus'. Any questions, comments, concerns, please don't hesitate to ask! Feel free to ask me anytime. If I don't get back to you right away don't worry, I will!
