THIS THREAD HAS MAJOR SPOILERS ABOUT BLOODSTAINED: CURSE OF THE MOON.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
I don't know if a thread focused on Curse of the Moon plot was created already or not, i searched and i wasn't able to find it. So, i decided to create this one.
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is a spin-off from Ritual of the Night universe. Even so, that doesn't mean the game will have absolutely no tie to the main game. There are several inconsistences between the plot of the two games that justify the "spin-off" label, but it isn't impossible to speculate if Curse of the Moon has any connection to the main game, even if it is just references and ideas.
So, let's discuss Curse of the Moon, of course, focused on QUESTIONS!
1) The game states that Zangetsu is a Demon Hunter, "cursed by the moon". You can go back in time using the "Curse of the Moon" option on the menu and at one of the endings, you can see Zangetsu at a modern city after being killed by his comrades. What do you think Zangetsu's curse really is?
2) The game kinda shows that Zangetsu's curse was bestowed upon him by Gremory. Gremory has a connection with the moon (the demon is capable of REMOVING THE MOON FROM THE SKY, no less). What was Gremory's purpose on cursing Zangetsu?
3) At the ending where Zangetsu is consumed by Gremory's darkness, it is stated that he became the new "Dark emperor". Castlevania had a concept (Aria of Sorrow ownards) called "Dark Lord", where the world requires the existance of absolute good (God?) and absolute evil (Dark Lord) to keep it's balance. Do you believe "Dark emperor" to be the same concept?
4) What is Gremory's role? She wanted a new "Dark Emperor" and that's why she tried to attack all of them with her darkness in the end? Or she was the actual "Dark Empress" and just tried to kill them so she wouldn't lose her place? Or maybe Gremory had a more hidden and sinister objective? Or she is just a high-ranking demon wreacking havoc?
5) Miriam is a "shardbinder" capable of summoning demons with her powers (probably a reference to Familiar shards) although she states she uses her power for good (and maybe, that's why she doesn't summon demons in the game). The major inconsistency between Curse of the Moon and Ritual of the Night is the fact that Miriam fights alongside Zangetsu, since Ritual of the Moon "kinda" states that she was sleeping when Zangetsu started his fight against demons.
Do you think there is any possibility of such inconsistency be somehow reworked on Ritual of the Night's plot, or that is one of the main reasons why Curse of the Moon is a spin-off? What do you think of this overall?
6) Alfred is a alchemist seeking the Book of Logaeth. Such book is mentioned on Ritual of the night and it is tied to the ritual of summoning demons to earth and the magicurse bestowed upon Miriam and Gebel. The Book of Logaeth is also tied to the Enochian magic, a system of ceremonial magic based on the evocation of spirits. Enochian language was used by Johannes to stop the magicurse from spreading over Miriam's body.
Alfred fightning alongside Zangetsu seems to be another inconsistency between Ritual of the Night and Curse of the Moon (there is even some signs that the demon that killed Zangetsu's friend and give him his injures, was summoned by Alfred himself). Like the question above, that is a sign of why Curse of the Moon is a spin-off or that could be somehow reworked?
What do you think of the ties between Book mof Logaeth, Enochian Language, Johannes, Alfred and such?
7) Gebel is mentioned to be another shardbinder, who rule over demons. Gebel was already active during the 10 years of slumber of Miriam on Ritual of the Night, but the demonic castle already exists on Curse of the Moon.
This leds to another inconsistency between the two games, although it is interesting to note that, at Curse of the Moon, the Castle's Lord (or, better yet, the Castle's Lady) is Gremory (and later, Zangetsu).
As the questions above, Gebel fightning alongside Zangetsu and actually going against the actual's leader of the demonic castle (that would be his on Ritual of the Night) is another sign of Curse of the Moon being a spin-off, or such detail could also be reworked?
Do you think that, in the main game, there will be some deeper relationship between Gremory and Gebel?

THAT'S ALL FOLKS!
