Hi there new here and to Blood Stained, just wanted to ask, what's happing with using the whip, is that still on or has that been pulled. as I'm a HUGE cv fan, id I loved playing that has the hint of CV to it and this game has everything a Fan could want. and when I heard there may be a Whip involved, I was very happy. but as I am very poor at keeping up with games I thought that id ask you smart people.  you might find your answer by exploring the forum but here to answer your question for whips..... this is a screen shot of the E3 demo images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/263841416535405966/B5C7F399F864FD6447A578025BB11F2F92A4C519/And welcome!!!! |

I like roast chicken sandwiches with peppered mayo. I can moonwalk. And I own a book of spells (mostly a collection of how to fix household items and cake recipes).

I cant believe Im necroing this thread but hi everyone Im a slacker backer and have been following the game from literally since it was announced. Aria of Sorrow was my favorite gba game, even though I was never much of a castlevania fan before that, so I was pleased when the soul shard system was shown. I even upped my pledge. Great work with the forums and everything until now, as a constant lurker I must say that its very organized and user friendly. PD: My keyboard is broken so I have no apostrophes  |

Hi everybody!
I've been lurking on these forums from the day one, basically. In addition to Bloodstained, I've helped crowdfund around 30 games (maybe half of them I've given $1 just to get updates). I actually had some kind of problem with my KS pledge (I think my credit card was just about to be updated by the bank), and eventually funded Bloodstained as a slacker backer. My first Castlevania was Super Castlevania on SNES, which was awesome. Especially the music. The next in line was the big one, SOTN (on PS), which became one of my all-time TOP5 gaming experiences. Even better music. (But man that PS PAL version seems slow after all these years...) Up until a few years ago I wasn't big on handheld gaming, so I missed all of the GBA/DS CV titles (my bad) and pretty much look at SOTN as The One.
What else? Retro gaming is close to my heart. Oh yeah, I work as a games researcher in a Finnish university and I'm doing my PhD on games crowdfunding, so I find pretty much everything that's going on on these forums to be quite interesting.

Hi hex! I happened to see your name pop up in the Unsung Story backer comments, something I backed as well. Now, that project...you'll certainly get night and day differences as far as response in the context of that vs Bloodstained, lol. That has so far been quite a troubling endeavor. I don't feel quite as negatively as the majority of people I see post there (i.e. 90% of people I see are asking for refunds), but it is disappointing for sure. It's cool that the forum has been useful for you. When you say up until a few years ago you weren't into portable gaming, does that mean you did actually get to the portable IGAvanias or no? If not, and you're still interested, I would suggest something like Aria > Dawn at least, and if you enjoyed those, further Portrait > Ecclesia, in that order, given your SotN lean and the strength of the games overall. |

Thanks for the suggestions! The GBA trilogy at least is on EU WiiU VC, so I might get Aria from there. I'm replaying SotN now on Vita (which I borrowed from work), and one thing I have to say is that my fingers/hands get numb after playing a while! (Is it that the device is relatively small or the button layout..?) Does anyone else have this problem? I can't recall having this issue for example with 3DS.
I'm really not very optimistic about Unsung. That production just...has the word 'troubled' written all over it. Perhaps luckily, I backed them with $1 just to get the updates, but I feel for everybody who invested a lot more. And with this I don't mean to say that they will never deliver the game - just that it's probably gonna be soooo late and even more than that - like you said - compare any area of that production with Bloodstained; the vibe of the community, the feel of participating the development process, the updates, etc. etc. It's like here everybody's bursting with ideas and energy, but in there... well, definitely not those things.

Heh, yes, those are the two in-development indie games that I'm backing. They couldn't be any more different. It's appalling that they outright told backers that they used their funds to finish a project they had started on earlier and just didn't have money or a team for a long stretch of time, let alone any mention of involvement with the Japanese legend they name-dropped to get everyone's attention (Yasumi Matsuno). Such a shame.
I backed for a full version of the game. I expect it...eventually? Who knows what we'll end up with, though.
As far as the Vita, I actually have no experience playing it, just the Vita TV. The PSP was in my experience a bit less comfortable and convenient than the DS/3DS, but not too bad.

SotN is my true love.

Enkeria Gin here. Born and raised in Sweden. Had SotN on my Playstation, which I have countless hours put into. Still to this very day I am yet to find a better game. I missed out on the Dawn of Sorrow and all those after.. Simply due to limitation of gaming devices, and the harsh reality of growing up.
I backed up just a few weeks ago and missed out on the E3 demo. I am hoping for a new demo soon. I also updated the tier and ended up in Collectors Edition with autographs attached for PC. After next payment I am hoping to evolve that tier.
Until the game comes, I have a very few other games I play, other than that, I work much and work out too. Got some friends around the world and will start streaming next month. Enkeria on Twitch.
I wish everyone a good Bloodstained journey, and epic game play once it is out.

Only been a fan of castlevania for about a year when i decided to play super castlevania iv and symphony of the night, due to dark souls 3 hype.
