Your Day

Today was really bad for me. My disability appeal was denied because "going to college tells us that you think you are able to work" when I had gone to college because I don't have the skills to do the job I'm ABLE to do! I wanted to be a lawyer, as for the most part I could move around and make my own schedule, do the work when I'm able... Now I have to either appeal AGAIN or kiss my education goodbye. It was hard enough getting the years I got in, y'know? I exhausted all my grants and FAFSA, held a 3.7 GPA, and I'm still not "eligible" beyond that for other scholarships or grants. Bills are coming in... I have to have at least $125/mo to pay off the credit cards I use to get through college. I'm having trouble even getting that.

My project, www.edushelter.info, is falling apart because no one has donated. It was a project I started to help disabled homeless that were in my situation - you can't get a job you're able to hold if you don't go to college, but you can't go to school if you don't have a place to stay, and you can't have a place to stay if you don't - See where I'm going? It's a vicious circle, and a majority of shelters, if not all, don't help with that. So I wanted to help. You see those pallet houses on Facebook n' stuff,so I'm sure you know what I mean when I say I was given blueprints for them. I was going to buy an empty lot in the city and build them on the property on my 'good days' when I'm able or have help, then give them somewhere to get a foothold on their lives. I printed flyers and put them all over the county. Nothing. It's very disheartening. So many businesses in Pittsburgh, so many people. It makes me sad and almost just want to give up on it.

I wish I could post something happier. However... I needed to vent, I suppose? There's a lot more, much of it personal, but I think this is enough and don't want to sound overly whiny. I'll just say it's been a bad month.

Hm, I think I spent the last two days watching anime (Chuunibiyou demo Kai ga Shitai series)... and doing nothing useful.

Oh well, without classes there's nothing to do ._.

I got to see the Rifftrax Live show for Miami Connection. It was hilarious and I had a great time.

Today was an awesome day, after finishing my collegeclasses i hung out with my friends all day. we ended up watching the attack on titan live action movie. I didnt think it was going to be that bad, i was wrong.

Actually, depending on where you live there might be a group/organization that does riding classes.  In Ohio, where I lived until recently, every county had some sort of training course you could take.  They only offered them durring the late spring, summer, and early fall for weather reasons and they were a bit expensive.  The one I took was I think like $75?? (that's also 10 years ago)  The nice thing about the ones offered in Ohio were that, at least the schedule that I got, it was two class room sessions followed by two riding sessions.  They had all sorts of different schedules like half an hour 4 times a week and stuff like that.  The one I took was 3 hours on two consecutive Wednesdays, followed by two riding sessions on two consecutive Saturday mornings.  The best part and what really made the class worth it?  They give you real world practical tests (emergency stop, dodging, etc.) and so long as you complete the written test and THEIR version of the driving test, you get a card that you turned in at the BMV and you got your endorsement.  And trust me. The driving test that I took at the course was WAY easier and taught me SO much more.

Also they provided the motorcycles.

I'm dead tired. Pulled off a graveyard for 8 hours in addition to 4 more hours. 12 hour workday. Grand. I also found out that I was short changed in my upcoming check. I have to go down to the main office and fix it. Oh boy...

I also have to take care a few things up at a different office. I'm hoping to take care of it really quickly.

I've been reaaally inactive here, but I was overseas in Japan visiting my girlfriend ^_^

We actually met online and started a LDR and this was the first meeting in person.. It went extremely well and we're committed to seeing this through, battling all obstacles that arise together. We have an incredibly challenging mountain to scale, and we plan to do it together (๑و•̀ω•́)و

The big thing I did today was see the new Steve Jobs movie. I thought it was great. It's like a perfect storm of talent. You've got the director of Sunshine and Slumdog Millionaire, a script by Aaron Sorkin, Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels arguing with each other, and some interesting cinematography and editing decisions. It was also fun hearing the audience's reactions to all of Steve Jobs's insults.
