Yeah I'd hope it would be at Evo. That's a common event for fighting games pre-launch, though I hardly ever have (or want to make) time to stand in line to play lol.

The last couple of Evos have been ridiculously hype for trailers and announcements, so SC's got a pretty fair shot of having something nice shown there this year. Crazy stuff in the past has been like Geese in Tekken and Blazblue Cross Tag existing, and those just being two of about 5 things last year haha. Capcom was completely overshadowed by anime and Namco, that's for sure. They showed...Abigail and some more Marvel Infinite

Despite being a Switch owner who likely won't be able to play this game, I'm pretty excited by this news. Talim was always my favorite. When I played SCII for the first time, I remember a lot of the fighters being just a little too cocky for my tastes, with intro quotes to the effect of "I will win and you will lose, because I'm the coolest!" It felt novel to be a fighter who was nice to people before and after wiping the floor with them.

Although, as a casual fan of the series who doesn't know the timeline that well, I'm left with a rather major question: how old is Talim in this game? Fourteen? Thirteen? Twelve? Beating the stuffing out of Nightmare with her is probably going to feel a lot like beating Ridley as Pichu in Smash.

SC1/2 is a given for the most part, I expect all of those characters to return for sure. The intention of this game is a reboot to include all of those characters from those games. 4/5 characters are an unknown, so that's why the "hope" statement.

All things considered, it seems like the recent Story Trailer has soft-confirmed three other characters; Astaroth, Cervantes, and Lizardman.

Now we need to see if they'll get "reveal" trailers, confirming if they're playable in the base-game (of which I have no doubt).

I seem to be quite late on posting this here. It looks like EVO 2018 (August 3rd-5th in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada) will feature a SoulCalibur VI stream at 8 PM PST.
