Ok now that many people are taking the nintendo switch seriously, I want to know if anyone really wants amiibo on the switch version, if they do what kind and what do you think they should do?
I personally want amiibo on the switch but I also don't what them to "break" the experience... personally I would like to see something like costumes, ingredients, material, maybe character specific weapons and so on... The other systems can get this with DLC but it would be cool to get this with amiibo (which IMO are kinda DLC that keeps giving).
The way Zelda BotW did it great, you can scan amiibo once a day and get things from them like costumes and ingredients... but nothing too game breaking... yeah if you have a whole set of amiibo you get a crap load of ingredients but still nothing you can't get normally. Bottom line I want functional toys for this game... anyone else?
(what I will put here is just an example and since it is an amiibo it should be able to be used more than just once... so if you see someone else use an character you can still use it. I want people to just have fun with this)
Amiibo: Miriam (standard version)
When Scanned: chance to get the standard Miriam outfit
Prize information: the standard outfit will make Miriam look like the default Miriam no matter what she puts on, it overrides any outfit changes when worn.
Rarity: *
[rarity goes from 1 star (*) to 5 stars (*****)]
Oh and you don't have to come up with an idea like above... really I just want to know that people think of amiibo for bloodstained.

As long as any Amiibo item is unlockable/buyable even without buying the Amiibo itself, I'm in. I'm really tired of trying to buy Amiibos when the demand is super high, the offer is low and scalpers run rampant.

My thought: Looks cool, have no idea what it really is. I am not a collector by any means, but if I had a Nintendo console and Bloodstained was had those small statues, I might just have to buy them. I haven't had a Nintendo console since Gameboy Advance SP Edition came out. I am missing out on a lot of Mario games (2D ones) and 3 Castlevania titles on DS, so I guess my next Nintendo console will be a DS.
I hope to get friends that have Switch in the future, so I can at least get a feel for the console.
When it comes to small statues, I have never been a fan of figurines as such. To me, the collect dust in a corner, that corner could instead be used by creative means, like doing artwork or something instead. I do not collect books or anything else either, its just how I am.
Is there any Bloodstained statues, action figures and such, it would be cool to see them, but if they do not have anything else than just look pretty I would probably not buy them.

If there would be Bloodstained amiibo, they should be so that they are basically icing on the cake to already delicious and fulfilling cake as it is. In other words, nothing that is required for the main scenario of the game.
What I would accept is a Miriam amiibo that, when scanned, adds an extra costume to Miriam's wardrobe which nothing other than change her appearance.
I will not accept amiibo that, for example, unlocks the hidden 1/3 of the castle required to "get the TRUEST OF ALL TRUE, YOU CAN'T GET MUCH TRUER THAN THIS FOLKS ending".

I would love to have a beautiful miniature Miriam, sure.
But... the thing about amiibos is that they're not too cheap and easy to find where I live.
So I don't know if it would be worth the price, however, I still think it is a nice idea.

I have a neat idea, I think. Miriam's MP recharges automatically over time, albeit somewhat slowly. Once per day with the amiibo scan, the game will spawn a toadstool for Miriam to sit on to quickly recharge her MP to full. All this does is essentially quicken the passage of time, and has to be in a safe area because you still have to walk to and sit on it for a few seconds (alternatively, it may not even spawn in battle situations/boss rooms). This would essentially be a Nintendo-themed version of the crystal energy throne that we've seen from the KS images. Now, for the neat specifics:
- Per each 50 MP increment increased, "MP up!" in green text with the classic "1up" sound effect plays
- In one specific part of the castle, a cavernous area with other mushrooms, doing this causes several other mushrooms to sprout on screen to collect, which comically look Mario-ish with different colors and slide back and forth on the foreground. They restore various amounts of HP/MP immediately, but you may get a purple poison one ;p
- If Miriam sits on the toadstool long enough, she will write a Princess Peach-looking letter to another playable character enclosed with a power-up. When that other PC goes through their game, they'll find Miriam's letter to them in "Miriam's Room".
lol initially I just wanted to go with hastening MP recovery, this all sounds too good to pass up now >_>

I love this, purifyweirdshard your always good for some interesting ideas... I wish I could they could do a mario, zelda, link or even a samus outfit but I wonder if people would get mad at that? |

I don’t care for Amiibos. I hope all things can be unlocked without need for Amiibos. If that is the case they can 3d print whatever they want. If they produce something cool, I might even buy it.

Pretty cool, if this happens I must buy a Switch, that Amiistuff, get a TV and that Bloodstained version so I can get that unique feature. It it just gave you a new costume, I could live without it, but with this cool aid in the game, I must have it. Haha. I would be broke. |

Enkeria, well I'm thinking it's essentially just a re-skinned "magical throne", something you get in the game that assumedly does the same thing. I was thinking that'd be less divisive than a costume for Miriam. For me, I'd be more sore over missing a costume than a mushroom version of an ability.

i would be more for the miriam amiibo providing a costume in line with a nintendo ip like a zelda themed dress (if youve beat loztp you can probably guess why that version would be my choice) since otherwise it gives the switch version a benefit that the other versions would miss out on, and ms/sony could reciprocate by offering a similar mascot based dlc outfit similar to how shovel knight had the toads or kratos
the potential downside to this though is cost and time to wade through red tape, how much to get nintendo to agree to this kind of cross promotion? same with sony and ms, is this something where as long as you follow x guidelines and get approval youre good to go cause hey free advertising, or is this some super big expensive headache unless they approach you first?
the minor issue i have with a 'provides x material or ability' is that means you always have to have the amiibo with you to use it, but really when it comes down to it itll end up being a super awesome statue to have on my shelf that happens to give something ingame as well

No serious thoughts as to what digital content would be on a RotN Amiibo(though the idea of it unlocking Mario Bros outfits including mustaches makes me giggle), but I do hope that the game becomes popular enough to warrant one. Shovel Knight got one, so why not Miriam?

As fun as this may sound, I think it could cause problems down the road. Amiibos are after all physical microtransactions. After the recent EA thing, mts are in a bad spotlight right now. Bad publicity for Bloodstained if it had any IMO.

djtanng I believe in some circles the Amiibos were getting some minor attention in this manner, but nothing near the train wreck that is Battlefront 2. The main complaints I've seen regarding the Amiibos tend to go more towards how difficult some have been to find, and scalping related issues. I would be hesitant to get any Amiibo, more for the fact that I've got limited space to put stuff here than anything else.
