What are your opinions on Ben Judd. The question I ask since I found out the guy didnt even donated a single cent to the Mighty n9 campaign. Makes me very wary that he didnt either in the Bloodstainend Kickstarter.
Also his company probably get a % total of the money, so the bigger the money donation the more money his own company makes.
Thoughts?

McDerpOkay you showed me he did backed Bloodstainend, but you ignored the fact he said publicly he would pledge Mightyn9 on the end live stream, yet says in a Podcast he didnt. So the man himself doesnt even donate a measly 5 $ for Mighty n9. I guese thats why Ben Judd isnt involved in Keiji Inafume's new kickstarter at all, since he's probebly asking a big cut on the donations. You can also see the horible translation that comes with it, and the strange reward tiers.

I think Ben Judd backed Bloodstained as a real fan of Igarashi and Igavania games, not as DDM company.

Whether you like Ben or not, you can't deny he has done a hell of a job for Iga, and is still involved. Let's show some respect,

Ben may have slacker backed MN9 via PayPal, which we would never be able to see.

Thoughts? I have no strong feeling for or against Ben Judd.
Though I saw him regularly in the Kickstarter comments and shared with us what he could share. Sometimes he needed to be vague.
Just because he did not donate via Kickstarter for Mighty No. 9, doesn't mean he didn't give Keiji a 1.000 Yen bill or something like that - we don't even know how much he donated to Bloodstained; could be even $1. Even if he didn't donate, that doesn't mean he is a bad person.
He seems to me like a decent guy with a plan and passion for games. If you want a good read, read this interview:
www.nodontdie.com/ben-judd/
He even said that he could have worked at comcept and it was on his plate and he didn't do it, not because he had no respect for Inafune (and his dreams), but had other dreams .
Though at the end of the day, this is job as agent, to help getting games created in anyway possible. And with this Kickstarter he did one hell of a job, securing not only the minimal amoumt, but over 5 million .

He gave us an idea of what he pledged: link 1link 2he led up to that for nearly a week by teasing us about how it'll be worth it to hit the 250 tier: link 3That said, i've only had issues with getting answers about the achievement stuff out of Ben and Fangamer. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but it would've been nice to have had more direct access to the total progress we were making towards each achievement so that we could've better coordinated our efforts. In the end, I guess it doesnt matter because we ended up getting NG+ and Miriam PURE.

This thread is darkbrotherhood 's first post on this site. The rules say - There will be no posts meant to offend or hurt any other member, in a manner which is offensive or inflammatory. Ben isn't a member, but the spirit of the rule still applies. I don't want to lock the thread, and we can all freely discuss Ben Judd, but unless there is some constructive criticism this thread really doesn't serve a positive purpose. Getting your feelings off of your chest about someone might help you, but it's not going to change that person. Don't feed the trolls. For all I know our new member could be a great fellow fan who will contribute to the great conversations we all have here. All I have as an impression is this person's first thread is attacking someone's character, and asking others if they would like to join in on it. They haven't even posted in the introduction thread, and I would venture a guess they haven't read the rules. If this had come from a member I knew a little better I would feel differently about this post, but I would still want any criticisms of someone's character to be constructive.

Sorry, I honestly can't help but see this as saying "Look at how bad Ben actually is!", which I find to be in bad taste. Of course though, that is your own opinion if so, which you are free to have. But even if he didn't back Mighty No. 9, I doubt that would be an indication of what his nature is.
As for my actual opinion on the topic, I think he did a more than excellent job with the Bloodstained Kickstarter campaign and can't wait to see what more he has to offer for it and future projects.

Real talk? Troll alert. If this was meant as a honest comment meant to spark honest discussion, it does a bad job. The wording comes off as extremely inflammatory and the setup is not great (honestly? who comes into a forum posting THIS as the first thing without even introducing themselves)
C- and see me after class, made me reply, but poor effort.

I'm pretty sure Ben came outright and said he was in for $250. He was at 150 before, but he wanted the Amano poster lol.
I have a lot of respect for this guy. He's STILL replying to comments on the Kickstarter, which he certainly doesn't have to do. He responded to me (and almost all of us) directly when we had questions/comments and took most of the suggestions we had for stretch goals. He was hardly even sleeping during the campaign, and I imagine MN9's situation was similar. I don't think we can even ask someone to donate for them to be a legit contributor when they're putting up so much of their own time like that. The people that were able to contribute via backer achievements are valued contributors, too, and important - even if they couldn't give money. They gave some of their time and talent. Ben Judd is giving upwards of ~1 year of his life?
I mean, sure, he will get paid, but the success of these things aren't guaranteed. Do you recall or know how many publishers turned these guys down (all of them, apparently)? There was some doubt there, and going into this a bit of nervousness, I think...but he and a lot of other people, staff of the project and not, put in the effort and made it great.
Now, I'm not mad or trying to preach here, but that's just how I feel about it. I don't think we could have asked for a better individual to handle these things and be Iga's agent.

Ben Judd rules and he donated at least 250 to bloodstained. He doesn't need to donate money to Might number 9. He's the one pushing these Japanese developers to try kickstarter in the first place, so for that he should be applauded not put down.

As far as I'm aware the guys an agent and you can tell he worked very hard, just look at the bags in his eyes during some of their recent videos. In my opinion he's good at what he does and him backing some games on kickstarter doesn't factor into that for me. I guess most of us here are fans of him as well as iga lol.

The mere existence of this thread feels tasteless and makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. Like talking about someone behind their back. Why the hell do you care OP if he backed MN9 or not? Who cares, he can do as he pleases with his money. Why do you care if he's not working on the Red Ash campaign? He's probably tired as fuck after the Bloodstained campaign. I don't know the man personally but all I've seen is someone who has always been willing to earnestly listen to and interact with the community, answer any of their questions and try to make them feel important. He helped make the MN9 Kickstater a success, he was able to convince IGA to leave Konami's "dungeon" (i.e. why Bloodstained is even a thing), etc. He has served my interests as a gamer well and has more than earned his agent's fee/salary.

Ben Judd is part of the Army of the Night like all of us (including, I assume, the one who started this thread) I for one, felt Ben Judd was in the trenches with us, so he is a brother at arms. as is all of the Army of the Night. and that is all I will say.

I like Ben Judd. He was very instrumental in engaging with us during the KS campaign and he's very passionate about the project. Hell, he still shows up to talk to people on the comments section here and there.. That means alot to me. The people running the shenmue 3 KS could learn alot from his example..
