Inafune knows how to make Mega Man games. I don’t know where this meme came from that Inafune didn’t know how to make Mega Man games from a gameplay/level design perspective or he was “just an artist”. Yes "blah blah businessman", he still was very influential in the development and design of Megaman games (especially the X and Zero series). The issue was that changes to differentiate MN9 from Mega Man were for the worst and more importantly, they spread themselves too thin on too many platforms. I disagree with you on this point, MN9's issues are much deeper than that. There's some very blatant examples of bad level design in that game, but this ain't the place to talk about that, and that game angers me enough as it is, so I'll stop here and not rile myself up any further about it. "- calling the big guy Tiny" Immediately reminded of Tiny Tiger from Crash Bandicoot. Anyways, nice discussion. I'm mostly rebuffing the narrative of Inafune as some bumbling doofus who can't make Mega Man games. He can make good Mega Man games, he has shown he knows what he's doing in the past. He fucked up MN9 due to incompetence not ignorance. Things like "poor level design" are under the vague umbrella of "changes to differentiate MN9 from Mega Man" I wrote.

Bloodless can mean multiple things though. Doesnt need to be taken literally.
Could be she is bloodless as in not having human feelings.
Or maybe cause she is a creature of the night, she could be 'lifeless', lacking vitality.
Also, is that blood actually her own? Could be like Blackmore in OoE, where it takes his victims shadow. Maybe she is lacking blood herself and has taken the blood of her victims.

Hey, so I wanted to do a croc-esque thoughts post on the BCB. I listened to the episode several days ago, but just now getting around to this. I was impressed by Miketendo's insight here. He knew his stuff! I really doubt Miriam is going to be a "silent protagonist" type, just from having seen the stack of voice-over lines the character needed to record. I would venture a guess that she'll be talking at least as much as say, Soma, but probably more. Regarding the amount of familiars being too much, the shards being too frequent, weapons being quantity over quality as well, etc: it's important to note again that the rate that these things appear was increased a lot for the E3 gameplay. In that section we watched, I imagine you'd more likely get maybe 20% of what we saw. It seemed "too much too fast" only because they wanted to showcase so many different categories of things in a tight space. I don't think there's a separate "kick" button while you have a weapon equipped. You -can- however do the double jump divekick regardless of whatever weapon you have at the time. All of the Igavania games have been like this, but now though, the divekick gets a huge damage buff if you're using a kick weapon. Miriam + Kung-fu shoes pogo'ing on Bloodless' head is pretty effective, lol. The breakable wall that leads to a long hallway that miketendo was describing sounds exactly like the part of Olrox's quarters where that happens. Probably exactly what he was thinking of. Speaking of what he was thinking of, that weapon he was trying to remember is called the Were Bane, and happens to be one of my and JeffCross ' favorites. It has a zig-zag pinkish/purple pattern to its special attack while the standard rapier's is a barrage of (weaker) green thrusts. The Were Bane drops from the Hunting Girl (temple and coliseum levels). I too wish the whip was more like the horizontal freeze frame attack that the Belmonts had. However, like the deader Mike pointed out, there could be another weapon that does that (doubtful though) or I'm thinking perhaps a different character. Johannes has a whip, you know... I agree about all that re: the industry and how things are going.

Although the magi-crystals were fused with her body at a young age, for 10 years she lay sleeping while the curse matured to its full form. It was during this period that the demons arrived, meaning that she missed their appearance and awoke with a mild form of amnesia, not quite fully understanding what happened to her. She is a woman of few words but strong of purpose. Her youth is deceiving, making her seem confrontational and quick to judge, though in reality she is constantly evaluating her next step. The pain she felt as an orphaned child fuels her compassionate desire to protect her loved ones and friends. source

I read and was involved in a lot of discussion here in 2015-2016 and I remember most of it ;p that in particular stuck out because I loved that weapon too, and a point I liked to make about it was that if we could use a crafting system back then to make it stronger, I'd have used it the whole game. Hoping we can do something like that with our favorites now. Have to see. We all more or less want something added to it, and speaking of such things, I do think it's odd that the aura on her back was gone, too.

thanks, I knew there was a thread out there somewhere lol. And yeah I love that idea of crafting weapons in the game.. just wonder how it will be implemented... was trying to get a thread started about it... but it was pointless, not many people got into it (I think... I don't remember anymore lol)

It's interesting that BCB 15 already has a lot higher view count than 14 after only a day, and twice as much as 11: Christmas with Mana. What the hell? lol

... Maybe its images of how to reach? Haha. I thought that script was ALL characters - like the complete script you know, not Miriam alone. I have never seen such bunch of papers just for one character with words only, there must be what the situation is, how the others respond, feelings into the words and such. Also, there are many languages that needs to be recorded, not only Japanese and English, maybe thats in there too?

I don't know man. I take it, that paper is the Japanese version of the game. Miriam is in it, along with the others. Do developers usually just make voice scripts for one person, and then make the next script for another?
