I had posted the weapons and what not a while back as well, when i first got into modding them. Back then my post was moderated because the ArtPlay guys didn't want us to show anything that was not officially released yet. so I guess be careful with what you post here. It's a lure, and Vepar is male.  Are you assuming someone's gender!? Disgusting! Fine, those tits are GIGANTIC! Would be a demon in Bloodstained version, not male or female. But sadly, it is just pixels and shades, colors and structurs. -- I find all the odd topics about many games talking about gender, sexuality and such a bit stupid. When it comes to fiction I have a hard time seeing stuff like a real thing. Who cares if Vespar is a man, woman, beast or a piece of wood? I mean, the design would be the same and the pattern would also be the same. -- Demons comes in shapes of the mind. In games and in real life. They do not have any gender. They are as much fiction as they are an illusion.. My former boss were a demon. I pity him. So in that sense, I would say him, because I saw him first as a male. Vepar could be a memorable boss should it return later in the game. Looking at the vivid colours and body design, this boss has the potential to alter its skin pigments and texture reminiscent to that of the Mimic Octopus. As a result, it could also make the shard more interesting too.

You forgot the part where controversy is already present and dealt with at the demo phase. I'd say it's very smart especially in terms of publicity, while the rest felt great and can't really be reproached upon. As for the idea that "the Japanese are pervs and won't hide it", we already got plenty of examples for it, some of the more memorable ones being the Dead or Alive Xtreme series and Dragon's Crown. I guess that now the more annoyed people are going "Ah whatever, go for it". Nicely done, devs. *Thumbs up* (Please refer to that old thread about nudity vs artistic freedom thread with poll for more details) ...On another note, can we utter the famous Admiral Ackbar's catchphrase when talking about Vepar now? |

I wonder what colors Vepar have now since they got in an changed it after the feedback. "tone down" .. or make it dull even? I wouldn't mind a gothic approach, keeping it navy blue and dark green (thinking on the theme of the ocean).

I'm opposed to censorship, always, unless we're talking self-censorship. I especially hate it in games. Hopefully, Iga does whatever he wants, because that's what I want as a fan. I want to play HIS vision, not some moron SJW's version of what they think his game should be.
I salute Dead or Alive and Dragon's Crown. The first was a pretty respectable fighter for the time, breast physics notwithstanding. Not a Tekken or Virtua Fighter by any stretch, but I feel like that's exactly what convinced them to go with a more sexualized/over-the-top style. It gave the game its own identity, and I thought it was fun. Dragon's Crown I like even more. Vanillaware can do no wrong in my eyes. Their games are artistic, unique, and gorgeous. Oh no, the sorceress had big boobs! Whatever. The gameplay was a love letter to the 2-D sidescrollers of the late '80s and early '90s, and it was a blast. One of my favorite games to come out in the past decade. Oncemore, the outlandish style made the game distinct. Sure, it was a bit much, but at least it was consistent. All of the characters featured preposterous proportions. Hell, the knight looked like those cartoon musclemen with 90% of his bulk coming from his chest/arms. Also, I was all about that Amazon. A source of unmitigated joy for me was obnoxiously screaming "Dat axe!" while laying waste to surges of reptilian baddies.
I think the real boon of videogames in general is they're one of the last remaining mediums where creativity and vision are prioritized over hypothetically offending some no-lifer. Even this is changing, as games become more mainstream and corporate. The day games become what Hollywood movies have devolved into is the day I probably find a new hobby.

Yeah, Vepar looks much better. Her face is great--beforehand, it was just kinda "ehhhh," but now, the glowing eyes and more clearly defined fangs make her look extremely scary indeed. Excellent work from the grafics team! |

Yeah, many things have been refined. Mostly there is now a widescreen shot when you actually battle her, making it better. I guess this will also be the case in all kinds of big bosses you encounter, which be at least 1 more (really big).
Her colors are not leaning more towards goth, and less fantasy which were the case of the first one. Colorful or not, the colors have been narrowed down and toned down. Some might say she is too dark, but the light-effects around her makes up for the dark theme.
Her face and is a bit slicker now, with a face that looks meaner. The stomach part of her was pretty hard to get a good view on, but I am sure we will have a fun time seeing whats new and beating her in the new demo.
Her "skin" resembles more water now, not exact like water but at least "magical sealed water". What I could tell we do not know if she have new skills during battle, refined sound etc. but its possible.

He definitely looks more legitimately demonic than before.
I like how a few of the people in the Twitch chat were actually convinced that the size reduction of his boobs (lures) was due to "SJW complaints". C'mon, people!
