A lot of "maybes" and "we'll see" but that is to be expected. Props to both
for the episode. Thanks for the shoutout too! I wrote down some notes for what went down and I think I got most of the major points - hopefully the below is all correct? Might be helpful as a reference for the future:
1) A careful, balanced back and forth between backers and backer feedback is important (not too much and not too little)
2) The overall narrative is done but some story elements/details are still in flux so character reveals will come next year. Zangetsu revealed earlier than initially planned.
3) Village & Villagers confirmed (just outside the castle or within is not confirmed)
4) We should be more proactive about ideas/suggestions since development is too in flux for dev team to be reactive? Suggestion Topics still useful.
5) Difficulty toggle option at start neither confirmed or denied
6) There will be more unique death animations (based on method of death) for enemies and some for bosses are likely
7) Post-release update schedule for each platform (GOG vs Steam as an example) is still being discussed
8) Equipment Color customization in the vein of SOTN will be available
9) Progress has been made on the Prequel mini-game but NDAs prevent much discussion
10) A 2nd Alpha (before Beta) may or may not come
11) Familiars will be similar to SOTN but their exact functionality is still in flux
12) The type and nature of food items in the game......will remain a surprise
13) The nature of the "Silly Cheat Codes" currently rest only in IGA's head
14) Mana hasn't played FFXV yet but the dev team did take note of food and food system in the game
15) Voice Acting hasn't gotten much discussion yet (some names have been tossed around though) but dialogue is being written
16) There may or may not be a 8bit segment in the actual game
17) IGA et al has no clue what Konami will do with Castlevania
18) Procedural Generation won't be used for enemies (or most things)
19) Fanwork (nature and variety) has left strong, positive impression on team
20) Vepar movement and color palate will likely be the biggest aspects of her to be adjusted (smoother movement, "scarier" color palate). Her concept was done by IGA, design mostly by Inticreates
21) Extra challenge will be mostly added by extra challenge modes rather than base difficulty
22) Can we upgrade weapons (with souls) or will there be a stronger focus on collecting best weapons? No comment.
23) Vast majority of demons will be enemies/bosses. May or may not use entirety of Lesser Key of Solomon.
24) Galamoth cameo? Maybe but very unlikely
25) Aiming for T rating though on the "mature side"
26) The work environment is friendly. A lot of lunch-time discussion centers around other games. Pokemon GO was a frequent topic of conversation (especially from game critique perspective)
27) IGA will continue to be fed food he has never eaten before
28) Mana appreciates opportunities to engage and interact in public that her job permits her
29) In regards to making Mana/their jobs easier, current direction of community forums is already great
30) IGA occasionally looks at forums though his English remains very limited
31) Mana's love of art grew organically and partially influenced by her love of video games
32) There was a cute story about a team excursion to catch a Dragonite in Pokemon GO
33) A lot of current development focus is on Bloodstained's visual design (lighting, color, etc.)
34) Mana might actually get to contribute some art to the game!
35) Adjusting to life in Japan is still a bit tricky between new daily routines and customs
36) IGA et al will appear at large events like E3 but no plans right now for smaller events for 2017. More focus on dev time.
37) Prequel game will be 8 or 16bit but not confirmed yet
38) A Bloodstained concert(s) may happen in the future but nothing planned right now. Footage from Yamane's recent Mexico concert should be up (by them)?
39) IGA is aware of Wii U vs. Switch conversation but has no comment on that right now. Not set how any decisions in that realm will be done but community will know ASAP
40) Details of retail version still in flux and up to 505 Games first and foremost
