Playable Breath of Fire characters in a MvC game would make me so happy.
If Nina from BoF II's confirmed, I'll be even happier (she's my favorite character of the game, after all).
Deis would be a great choice too, with different elements of her incarnations (some spells from the second, some she teaches you in the third, Ershin attacks, etc.).
Katt and Garr? One doesn't know spells (unless in shamanized form?) and the other must be slow like hell. ^^
As for Rei, I'd love to have him around, but what's to steal? *grins*

neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=227494393#post227494393So apparently the Leak is incredibly fake. Neogaf user Ryce claims his sources state that th is list contradicts what hes been told. FYI Ryce knew about MvCI before it was announced and leaked info that was all correct with what was shown. If Ryce says this list is fake, its fake. So, fast forward to now, the list has been accurate so far with one exception: it didn't have Chris on it. We're unfortunately getting him instead of Leon at the moment. It better not stay that way...
The main red flag for me about that list is just how many people are in it. 60 out of the gate is a bit much even for a 3v3 game, let alone a 2v2 one. I would think more like 30 total. MvC1 had 16-ish and TvC didn't quite end up with 30.
Let me edit this with underlining who is already in, bolding who I think will make it, and striketrhoguh the unlikelies lol. Leaving ones I'm not sure about plain text.

imo lol. Capcom list is very fanboy heavy, BUT I will say that they were pretty good about including fans' most wanted characters in UMvC3 aside from the obviously missing Mega Man.

I still want Nina and/or Bleu/Deis as the Breath of Fire representative. While BoF2 Nina would make the most sense due to her being the more offense focused one, I wouldn't mind the BoF 4 one for a balance of offensive and (dare I say it) healing capabilities. Than again, healing in a fighting game may ruffle a few feather. I am bit bummed that Chris is the RE representative again. That was playing way too safe. Give us Leon and/or Claire. Also... Give US some details about X's boss weapons already. Galamoth and I are more than ready to fangasm and speculate. |

I will sound like a jerk, but Nina from BoF IV has zero charisma (my favorite characters in the game are Scias and Ursula and Ershin a bit too). I finished the game for completion purposes and I never wanted to return back to it (surely because the dragon transformations needed you to succeed countless times in silly mini-games and the fishing game was not fun, unlike the third's).
Leave self-healing capabilities to bosses... but again, you'd see that way more often when it comes to RPG bosses... Guaranteed super salty moments when you see the health bar regenerating all of a sudden.
Yes, overall the Marvel Vs. Capcom series needs new faces. That said, the change of roster between the second and the third was very brutal.
As for the first MvC, they could have included so many more characters. It's not like the arcade board or disc capacity (PS1) would not be able to hold more of them (they did the same for Pocket Fighter). Seeing all of these cameos made me depressed.
This is also why I still desperately want to own MvC 2.
Tekken vs Street Fighter (and not vs Capcom) didn't include so many of them, true enough, but Ultra Street Fighter has a roster of 44 characters... so given MvC I will be on current-generation consoles and PC, it's not impossible they could go for more than that number.

Scuttlest I'll still post about Wind Cutter on my thread, but have you played X2? There's a similar weapon in X2 called "Sonic Slicer", obtained from Overdrive Ostrich.

Yeah I'm going to concur in that the leaked roster is actual garbage - No X-men or Fantastic 4 (we knew this was likely to happen but it still sucks!)
- Four female characters. REALLY? (Not even Avengers like Black Widow or Scarlet Witch?)
- No Black, Latino, M Eastern, etc. characters. REALLY? (Where the hell is T'Challa? Kamala?)
- Nemesis over Wesker? TWO GnG characters? No Akuma? No BoF character(s)? No Gene or Asura? Capcom choices are so poor even though they had more freedom than Marvel
- In addition to the other Marvel omissions you get things like no Loki, Defenders (Marvel TV universe characters), etc. MCU choices are substandard!
- Tiny Roster when so much of the cast is C&P from UMvC3. This screams small budget and/or dev time >_<
- Sigma is one of the final bosses and isn't even in the base roster? (again old news but extra dumb in context of full roster)
Like I'm super glad the X series is finally getting its due and a few characters like Jedah are interesting but this roster sucks! It screams "buy the DLC to get characters you actually want!". This of course aside from other issues like aesthetics and some gameplay changes I'm not 100% sold on yet. |
