Why does Gebel wear Johannes glasses then (more correct question is why Johannes wears Gebel's glasses later)? Does he really look here like an orphan and a guy to the right like an alchemist? Also if the guy to the right is Johannes, why is his hair color MUCH darker than on his aged artwork?

Also if the guy to the right is Johannes, why is his hair color MUCH darker than on his aged artwork? 1.) Those probably aren't Johannes' glasses. It is also likely that they've just worn similar pairs. (OR maybe Johannes likes to keep Gebel's glasses to remind him of an old friend) 2.) Yes, Johannes on the right does look more like an alchemist than Gebel (his clothes are just a tad-bit more "professional"). The man on the left (Gebel) is wearing a plain dress-shirt. 3.) Hair color can realistically change with age. I know that because my hair has changed from dirty blonde to dark-brown to auburn and back again, several times throughout my life. I remember even having black hair once. ^ It's a different case for Miriam's and Gebel's current hair-colors, though. |

Enlarge the picture and you'll see a specific design part close to lens, the same Johannes has. Memento hypothesis is an interesting one, then it definitely has to be reflected into the story. Ha, these inconsistent things in the artwork sure do spark a lot of interesting ideas. Honestly I believe they are just mistakes. Same with what side Gebel's mask is on in the reflection. Same with Miriam's hair color, Johaness' hair color and the glasses. It's all just concept art.

I do think that Miriam could already be cursed on that art, she does seem to have bandages on her chest neck area and she'd been froze in time or something, while Johannes tried to prevent unchecked growth of her curse

Indeed, she is cursed here already. Yet not to a full extent since ends of her hair is still pale.
