Uh, I knew about that button for awhile now, lol. It notifies you if there are new replies to topics you've replied to. You can click it, and it'll direct you to those topics.
...Just to clarify, we're talking about the "Participated" button, right?

From what his KS comments say, he has revealed they are working on a website for the game. I think when it's public all our questions will be answered.
