There are 13 SMT/Persona games on sale this week through NA PSN. I already have 1, both halves of 2, both versions of 3 (PSP and FES), 4, Golden, Arena, and Ultimax. Besides, I don't have money for anything else on sale. On a side note, anyone played Conception 2 on the 3DS or Vita? It's got a Persona vibe, but it's also a dating sim/harem game that doesn't take itself seriously...at first. Oh, and it's published by Atlus but developed by Spike Chunsoft who did 999 and Danganronpa. I have both versions, the only difference being audio and visual quality. That and frame rate. Overall, I could care less what the reviewers say. I like the game and I have a lot of fun with it. People unfairly compare it to Persona, which in my opinion is not right.

I played Persona 1 a long time ago when I was RPG hunting as a teenager. I didn't manage to get very far in it. I knew Persona 2 existed at that point, but I didn't know there was a whole series behind and surrounding it. Persona 3 might have also been out around that time and I didn't know about it.
A few years later I got Persona 4 as a gift. Many of my favorite games ever have been gifts that I hadn't expected. I looked at it and thought it might be interesting, so I tried it right away... and then I couldn't put it down. It became one of my all time top favorite games, and I beat it within the week at about 80 hours. I ended up getting Persona 3 FES after that, and although I didn't like it as much, it was still very memorable and worth playing. I expanded my scope of the series and tried Devil Summoner 2. I absolutely loved that, and thankfully it came with a sweet plush doll. I stretched out to Digital Devil Saga, and I beat the first one, but I have yet to beat the second. I lost my save data for both so I'm a bit reluctant, considering you get to carry over certain things from the first game. I tried Nocturne but I haven't gotten that far. I have SMT IV on the 3DS and I've made some headway into that only because of the EXP grinding DLC. They're great for what they do but they don't offer enough story content to satisfy me, at least not in the initial stages. I did get to Tokyo in SMT IV and that has been largely interesting, and I plan on continuing the game, albeit slowly.
SMT as a design concept strikes my fancy. I'm a fan of demons not being automatically evil, which they pretty much never are in SMT. I believe nothing can be born inherently evil, which the series expands on a lot, and it delves into mental concepts and various social stigmas, and it's both very entertaining and rather informative as well.

sadly I came in late and found the SMT series in P3FES. I loved it and wanted more but I found out why I didn't like the past games... the past games were in "first person dungeon crawler" style and I'm not much of a fan of that. (no offense to those who like it just not my style)
so yeah bring it on Persona 5!!!!!
