Hi guys,
I'm trying to be patient, but I love seeing updates on where the project is going. Is there a plan for making their schedule known? Or at least when they will show what they have done?
I know there's the developer updates, but these have been quite underwhelming the past while and I feel we haven't really gotten anything since the demo.
Please understand that I don't want the game rushed or expect it to be done next year, I just like to see updates and be able to discuss them because I'm quite excited for the game and the development of it.

Nope, there is no schedule unfortunately. I do however think that the last update could have been a lot better. Go watch the IGN interview they did to IGA, way way better than the entire update by a mile. I'm really expecting something more substancial soon, with all this Wii U/switch rumors going on.

I would love their updates to be a little more consistent. Like 1st day of every month or something like that. But that's my only complaint about this whole Kickstarter campaign so I should be grateful.

They really can't be more specific in the updates without revealing a ton of spoilers.
They gave us a playable demo, so we know they're hard at work. As far as I'm concerned, that's more than enough.

Hmmm...I don't think anything like that has been confirmed or revealed, so the monthly updates are all we can expect. :/ I'd love to see them as well, but I don't think I'd wanna have too much spoiled.
...not that I mind seeing snapshots though...

This! How come IGN gets exclusive snapshots (and an IGA interview) and us the backers get none?

I think it's actually rather difficult to tell others information about the game without being so vague that it sounds like just another day in the office. Thinking about that I actually would like some semi vague updates. "The section of our team designing the weapons has come up with several dozen ideas so far. Here's one such weapon:" and then they expand on it or even choose a subject more broad. I can only imagine though that the devs are prioritizing the game greatly over updates.

I agree with all these comments. Just have someone follow the team around for a day each month and stream it raw. This would be more interesting and less time consuming. I'm sure the publishers would strongly disagree, but c'mon, this was one of the most impressive kickstarter campaigns in history.

Personally i'd rather they get on with the business of making the game good instead of telling me what they're planning/going to do with it. Dont get me wrong updates are nice, but they're a non-essential. I trust in IGA and his team so i dont need to know what they're doing every month.

I kind of like the idea of showing us what the team is doing from time to time. Even if it is just a walkthrough of the office with a brief stop to see what everyone is working on. I needs my fix!

And the upside of something like this is that it would only be mildly disruptive. Little stuff like Iga with the umbrella is more informative and entertaining to me than very early footage or demos.

One piece as to why the team may not do something like this is that some of them at ArtPlay are quite camera shy...
As far as frequency of updates, there is such a thing too imo as TOO MANY updates lol. The Dark Souls board game for example has had 89 updates since April. April of this year. I'm borderline sick of even hearing about it, hahaha...
...but mostly just mad when I see a Kickstarter e-mail and it's not Bloodstained.

I think I've said this before but sure, I think there's a valid argument that there is such thing as too many updates. You don't want to outright spoil your product. However, I don't think that's the case here, there's still a lot we don't know much about. I don't think anyone expects videos for every update for example but even little things like Concept art goes a long way. Hell, the updates before the project got truly under way were some of the better updates and in those updates we were serviced JUST concept art and it was a lot of READING material. Not everything has to be flashy!

Currently we’re committed to posting updates about once a month. We’ve discussed internally about a scheduled day for monthly updates, but we decided it wouldn’t work very well for a number of reasons, such as:
• Game development doesn’t necessarily correlate with a ~30-day information cycle. We do our best to provide a decent amount of content for each update, but that content’s existence won’t always abide by a specific day of each month.
• Due to numerous factors, updates can get delayed even within our own internal time-frames. There’s a lot of things going on between many different people & companies that may need multiple tweaks/revisions before they’re ready to be shown to the public. We’d likely be setting the backers up for disappointment on a regular basis if the updates kept coming out later than we told them they would be.
• We do not want to post updates without a minimum amount of substantial content. We’ve observed this happening with other Kickstarter projects in the past, and it typically results in the backers becoming less engaged/interested in the project due to the amount of content that is irrelevant or too tangentially related to the project’s main focus (i.e. the game). If this were an Anime, we would avoid doing non-canon filler episodes.
(…okay maybe the occasional beach episode)

Oh and also to address Olrox’s question: This! How come IGN gets exclusive snapshots (and an IGA interview) and us the backers get none? We’re not trying to compete with other news organizations such as IGN. We’re doing our best to provide monthly updates, however it’s not realistic to expect 100% of all new information to come exclusively from the Kickstarter updates. Also there aren’t any backer-only paywalls in this project. All updates posted on the Kickstarter/forums are available for the public to view (as was the IGN interview).

Keep doing what you're doing Fangamer Steve . And thank you for addressing the issue of lack of frequent updates here. Your list of reasons for the delays are very fair and help illustrate the big picture for us of what you and Fangamer do. Send us the next update when it's ready
