Where's the "let's focus on finishing the first game before we even talk about this" option? Indeed.

I absolutely have no problem since with creators like IGA it's pretty much like a pre-order at this point and it's up to them to then return the favor by releasing a good game that makes us feel comfortable repeating the process. However, I do want to say that I don't see myself spending $365 every time, who knows I could do it again and again too, but if they can release the games the old fashioned way that's also good too.

This is actually an irrelevant topic but if we're talking Kickstarters with IGA am in that minority that would actually be more interested in a 3D game from him in the vain of Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness on the PS2. Now there, I would SURELY spend as much as I did on Bloodstained.

I'm not sure. I would say that I'm glad I was able to be a backer for this game and help put my own weapon in the game or perhaps the series. That alone gives me an feeling of personal investment I'll never replace. if this offer was back in the day, that would have been one of those wierdly expensive and laden with rules sweepstakes I wouldn't have won.
One the other hand, would that make the game look bad?
I guess I would say I would like for them to use kickstarter, but only because I would love the extras and a chance to design things that badly.

I personally think it's not necessary. I'm sure Bloodstained 2 will be made with the money from the sales of the first game. I'm confident in the game, and I'm sure it will be great.
They won't really need another Kickstarter.
Kickstarter is really for starting projects. After a project is successful, it doesn't need to rely on Kickstarter.

Which makes the precious moment and contributions even more precious if and when the sequel comes out. I certainly wouldn't mind it if the backer items and monsters got some legs for the sequel.

No, maybe if they went full 2D then perhaps. Also kickstarter has lost it apeal after dubious and failed projects.

I voted no - not because I'd be unwilling to support IGA again, but because of the fact that if the sequel needs a Kickstarter, that means the original wasn't successful enough to warrant a sequel through conventional means.
And man, I really want the original to be successful enough to warrant a sequel.
It would probably be a lot cheaper to develop, too, since the engine and many of the assets could be reused.
Basically, I'd love for this franchise to become a thing...and I think it's up to us to spread the word to newcomers and make it happen.

My opinion is that kickSTARTER is to start something new, meaning once it is done it is supposed to walk on it's own after that, i see it as a chance to prove the conpect worth it and to have success to attract investors into the future games of the franchise and of course raise money from it's own selling after the release, also is very strange to keep depending in crowfunding indefinitely. There is something to remember here, Bloodstained is a complete innovation and has no reused assets and have no previous expertise on the new 3D style, which means it's pretty hard to convince investors to raise private funds for it, so the kickstarter was a great way to do it.
For the next games, let's say Bloodstained 2 or other IP, this time we will have all the expertise from the Bloodstained devs experience, ready assets to be reused and modified, it will be much easier to create new games using the same style, which means it requires less fund, what i mean is that there is no need to open another KS, obviously we are hoping for the success of the project so there will be no need for that anymore, that only makes sense if Bloodstained fails in selling enough.

Kickstart for 2 would be good. EVERYONE must witness that there are people who DEMAND this genre, will gladly pay for it and it is far from dead. Konami had their eyeballs poked out by the critical success of 1's kickstarting and it was quite enjoyable for a spectacle, to boot!
Nowadays, people "vote with their wallets" and "money speaks". Well, let money speak against bad corporation decisions (and practices), once again! Companies must engrave it inside their chipped skull, that fans have to be heard.
"The customer is always right". Let us restore this good old, golden rule, forcefully! By supporting decisively those who give to the customer what customer wants and making a ruckus about all that!

I honestly think this is too early to consider this. Bloodstained 1 will be out and funded all right, but it is ultimately its success what is going to decide if Kickstarter is going to be necessary again.

I am going to vote "Yes" because I would love to see this become IGA's new franchise.
But let's be reasonable. We need to see if the rest of the world will get as excited about this as we are.

I see both sides on this. I would prefer that it didn't need another kickstarter given how much praise and interest was in this gameplay style to begin with. However at the same time if the game is good or great or amazing, but for some reason people continue to forget about it and not buy it and the game absolutely deserves a sequel....I don't know I'd consider it. At this point even before launch, a publisher should at least be thinking about funding a sequel fully. They're already creating assets and given Iga's history of making do and reusing assets, it shouldn't cost as much the second time around. That could also mean less money asked for a kickstarter if it came to that.
I'm always ready for the worst case scenario though. Kickstarter should be a last resort only, not a first resort like Double Fine or something.
