I've played a couple, but I haven't been able to play as many as most others. The ones I've played that are pure Visual Novels are Katawa Shoujo and Yume Miru Kusuri. Yes, they're both eroges, but even so, the storytelling is great in them. Also, I suppose you can count Ace Attorney, Corpse Party, and Persona 3 Portable as being VNs as well. Also, my first thread that I started on this forum. Even though there are technically hentai elements to it (which can be removed), I was actually completely impressed with Katawa Shoujo; it actually was a well thought-out and well written visual novel! |

And unlike the mainstream games, I'm making it so that the main character is NOT a silent protagonist. Personally, silent protagonists are a pet peeve of mine, even though I love games that have them, like the aforementioned Persona and even The Legend of Zelda. What would make me happy is if someone did do artwork of the characters I made, but I'm also too poor to pay commissions for that, especially regarding how much some people would charge for just one. |

Actually, there are LOTS of Visual Novels on Steam, even some big ones like Grisaia no Kajitsu, Higurashi, and there are more incoming, like Muv-Luv, Clannad, G-Senjou no Maou, and many others. But, Harmonia is the first Visual Novel that are releasing BEFORE Japan, and by Key, the biggest VN dev out there. It's a very good VN and friendly for newcomers (by friendly I mean, it's not hard to complete all routes and endings, there's a decent amount of choices and content to "explore"). Overall, a pretty ok place to start in this world of Visual Novels. Note: if is someone wondering, yes the Steam version is censored, but they just cut the h-scenes, which are meh, somewhat useless but definitely skippable. The goods of this version (HD assets, new interface, etc) are enough to ignore the censorship. |

I only have played through two visual novels, the first one was Monster Girl Quest (even if it was mean to be an hentai game with monster-girls and often disregarded because of it, the plot and the game are really good and enjoyable) and i'm currently playing Grisaia no Kajitsu (not as fun, each characters got a sad backstory but really interesting nonetheless, would recommend)

It's "The Devil on G-String." Either way, it's a musical reference to "Air on the G-String." That piece is apparently referred to as Maou(translates to "devil" ) in Japanese, thus the title. There's a lot of classical music references in G-Senjou, and the VN's soundtrack is heavily influenced by it. For example: |
