For those that are new or can't remember how, in the guides section there are instructions on how to change your "team icon" for sword or whip, but there is also a black ribbon there used for mourning. Unfortunately, I've used it for several reasons since we initially put it here for the passing of Iwata. Here is a link to the threadThank you everyone for avoiding conversations that can be quite polarizing. The level of respect and maturity this community has towards everyone (except Konami) is very appreciated. We don't have rules that restrict free speech on politics or other polarizing things because we don't need them. You all are the best. There is enough of that negative stuff on my Facebook feed and at work.

For some reason it won't save no matter how many times I try to change it.
It is my personal opinion that silence and mourning is the best way to respect the dead. It makes me feel ill the number of people using this to prop up their own political beliefs in the media.

I'm the sort of person that grieves through silence. Someone's death has a different impact to me than to someone else, and I don't like comparing the two, I'll let you feel how you feel and so just let me feel how I feel, I don't like social movements and the like.
All that said this was a terrible tragedy and I couldn't fathom how I'd feel if I were a survivor. I'm not in a position to help anyone, but I genuinely hope those who are left after the tragedy get the help they need.

Yeah I'm kinda upset at how the media is manipulating this to spin agendas in ways I wont get into, but this isn't the appropriate venue to discuss such matters at such a time when people are actually dead, or missing family/loved ones.

As a gender-queer person, the last few days have been rough, to say the least.

when will we find a way to prevent these kind of tragedy?
In some news, I heard the FBI was watching the killer on their list, but why can't they prevent it?

when will we find a way to prevent these kind of tragedy? In some news, I heard the FBI was watching the killer on their list, but why can't they prevent it? In my opinion, the only way is to attack the root of the problem, which lies deep in the human heart. We live in a society that is wrapped in a deadly blanket of deeply rooted apathy and a lack of concern for others. There is a clear lack of dignity and respect for an individual's own life. I am a member of the Soka Gakkai International (Value-Creation Society) which is founded on the notion that each and everyone person deserves to become happy, just as they are. Right now, we are largely affected by external influences such as media, government, tv, internet, etc. Many people in this world seek happiness outside of themselves and that in turn is a huge mistake, because they forget the value of their own life. The SGI has real solutions to these problems we face and it's strongly grounded in society, it's not a closed off practice. With respect to science as well, this philosophy runs parallel with science and is based on 'actual proof', which science validates through testing that proof. I realize I may have gone a bit off topic here, but when horrific things like the Orlando tragedy are countless other unspeakable situations occur in our world, I cannot help but speak out with my convictions. There is an upcoming pride festival for the LGBQT movement, and we plan on taking part in it to wholeheartedly show our support for the SGI-USA LGBTQ Courageous Freedom Group. As a race, it's time more than ever to unite with people to tackle these problems, by taking care of the person, right in front of us. We can do this as a race!!

I write a blog for an LGBT website called Matthewsplace.com, and let me tell you, it has BLOWN UP since this tragedy. Gawd. why are people so sick in the head. X_x *sigh*

Everyone is welcome, only requirement is that you must be a human being
