I eouldnt fret too much. I dont mean this in a negative way but Im not expecting the demo to provide hours of fun. Im thinking itll be more like a tangible display of progress... Which i have to say is quite pleasing anyway.

Ill be oohing and ahhing over the textures more when i play the demo, but on what looks to be a rotting, leaking, falling apart husk of a ship moving into a storm, the color palette is perfect, it captures the gloom and sets the tone very early and still manages to have slight color streaks in the rotting wood, and i think once you get to the castle thats where they will add in the richer and more vibrant colors, and as you move further away from the outer walls the decadence and terrific elements will be more pronounced and as you get closer to the source itll take those palettes and twist them

So.... I probably missed something in some discussion somewhere.
Last I had heard, Miriam had recently woken up (somewhere). And the first stage is her headed on some sort of ancient ship to the game's main location? Do we know anything more about this story at this point?
Hmmm, mysterious!

Excellent, excellent. It's nice to see that the first environment in the game is in fact outside the castle proper, and I'm pleased to see the progress in the game's development. Not much else to add that hadn't already been said, really.

I think the true plus is that the tutorial stage is spent OUTSIDE the castle. Although, I'm not a fan of tutorials in games, I much rather figure out the mechanics on my own without the game showing me how much of a game it is. I'm glad they don't a section of the castle on that.

I bought a $100 alchemist treasure edition for Ps4 aka Physical so I might not personally be able to play the game on steam so I might just give the code to a friend to convince them to buy and support the game at a later date while hopefully putting up their session on youtube
Also I was kind of hoping an outdoor level would have been a more haunted woods one but then again it makes sense since the castle is surrounded by water making it essentially an island,so a level where you travel to the castle via haunted run down boat....fine with me
Although it did get me thinking,I was under the impression miriam was sealed and wakes up within the castle if thats not the case you gotta wonder...Maybe they will have a mini prequel game where you play as someone else and then discover miriam's sealed area while she is still asleep

WOW !
This update is amazing. First in first, thanks for providing us beautiful fanarts and screenshots everytime ! I'm always happy to see how the community is good and the progress of your work. - About the video -
• THAT SMOOTHNESS ! God bless you. It looks awesome. It's very pleasant to watch and I bet it will be 10x more pleasant to play it ! • Another good piece of Michiru Yamane ! • Love an intro on a ship heading to the castle. • Great level design but maybe : - Too "squary". - Too lineary. - Needs colors update (brighter, darker ?) IMO.
Concerning the demo, I am HYPED ! That's one thing I'll follow during the E3 and I'll be playing it and cheasing after every glitches (if there is a single).
- What I expect -
• A feedback survey/fill (like you did with shaders). • A possibility to play it multiple times so people can find, if existing, bugs, flaws, etc... to give interesting feedbacks. • An intense emotional moment !
Thank you again everyone, Iga, Mana, IntiCreates and BSForum ! I can't believe how far we've went and how long we still have to wait but, things are getting real, we keep getting positives feedbacks and updates and that makes me very happy, very proud to have backed this project and supported it as I could, and excited to play it when it'll be released !
Cheers !

Cheers ! I was gonna make a comment about the bold but I decided not to originally but since it was brought up by someone else. That was a concern of mine as well and one of the things I stressed about for a while now. Long hallways that are flat, and big boxy rooms without much in terms of geometry. Now, this could merely be because it's a pirate ship and you can't really do much but have big long hallways and well box rooms, so I kinda refrained from saying anything. So i'm gonna wait and see on this one. A good example that I should have used before - That lower walk path could just be a straight line if they wanted to but they put some curves to it which makes it more interesting and sticks out better. or how in this pic you could take the lower flat path but they put these little platforms along the way which make the design more interesting. The less relying on box geometry the better but that's not to say there can't be some dang nice looking hallways! Anyways to sum it up: 1. Not really concerned as it's an area we haven't fully seen yet. 2. It's a giant boat, it's not like there's gonna be wild geometry on a boat. 3. There's some nice designs we've seen already in some concept art.

So a little more in depths thoughts now:
First of all, when I heard that this game would be done in a 3D engine with a 2D style, this is EXACTLY what I imagined (and hoped) it would be. Although honestly, the environments are beyond my expectations.
As for her scarf, it does look out of place I admit, however I've noticed it does well to illustrate to your eye-sockets in which direction Miriam is actually moving, whether that be up, down, left, or right. This makes Miriam incredibly easy to track and should make a lot of players deal with the movement a lot easier. Plus I think some of the people want for her hair what is happening with her scarf. I personally don't care too much about hair movement, given that it's so short, though I'm not opposed to making it bob/sway a little bit.
The background is incredibly pleasing to watch. All of what's going on in this boat level is outstanding, from the leaks in the ship to the rain. The lanterns are beautifully lit and the effects of their lighting on the walls is a nice touch. The lanterns swaying from the ceiling as the ship rocks is also a nice touch, definitely appreciate this one here.
In the second scene of the video, Miriam's steps sound weird. I know it's supposed to sound squishy due to the rain and forming puddles, but it sounds like you're stepping in goo or bug guts. As far as sound goes this is my only complaint (not a huge complaint either, this doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things). All the other sounds, such as her slide and her regular footsteps, landing in various places, and the wind, they all sound great.
The music is great too. What we'll need is some intense story line to set the mood for this beautiful track!
Don't know what I'm missing in my thoughts. It's all pretty amazing.
Also I had to e-mail fangamer due to losing my survey e-mails, and they got back to me with my links the very next day! Couldn't be more satisfied.

There is one little detail that I LOVE and would like to point out. Miriam's idle animation has a very subtle hip movement to it. That one small detail speaks volumes of her personality. I may be wrong but I feel that it adds a level of playfulness when it comes to her core personality. Whether I'm right or wrong is up to Iga and team but I hope I'm right.

Hey, you can tell the Inti team are HUGE fans of SOTN. They're trying to mimic the feel of Miriam's movements closely to Alucard's, even Alucard had an adjusting hip type movement if standing in a certain way. Hell the subtitle is " Ritual of the night" which calls back to " Symphony of the night"... There's definitely that vibe of them wanting to top the game or at least do what it did better and then some.

I think the biggest loss post sotn was the animator of SOTN. He was GOAT for this series. All the animations were just mind blowingly beautiful.
I particularly liked when Alucard got hit by a strong attack and flung across the screen and how he flips himself against the wall to re-balance himself. I wonder what happened to that guy but they should try to get him back for the 2d stage in this game

well the gummy map had instances of angled platforms, so there are plans in place to have them, and there may be angled platforms in the ship as well like in the rigging or a section of the ship has caved in, im sure we havent seen the whole thing with all the jump cuts the vid has during the segment
i could see the minerva being somewhat similar to ceres in super metroid, its a short section that gives you a relatively safe spot with plenty of opportunities to get familiar with the movement, platforming, and combat at your pace without stopping every 5 second to MEGAMAN MEGAMAN!, and if youre good to go you can breeze through in a few minutes, and once youre done with that section you leave the crumbling hulk behind because youre ready for the real challenge

I am interested in the area.
In fact, didn't the KickStarter infer that the game was set in a castle? Is IGA still keeping his pre-crowdfunded idea by making it a trotting adventure, like Order of Ecclesia was?
Also, is there a way to get in on this if you've yet to back the game? I lacked the money to do so last year, but if backing it now would allow me in on this..I'd probably do it.
It'd be my best opportunity to play the game, as my future is very much a personal mystery.

Everybody backing at $60+ will get the demo, which will be coming out over Steam. So if you backed for a PS4 copy, a Wii U copy, a PC copy on either Steam or GOG—anything—you will get the demo, but it's only being distributing over Steam and it will only run on Windows. BETA: Coming later—no date set in stone yet. Will be distributed in the same way we initially explained in the backer updates during the campaign: Anybody whose $60+ pledge includes a PC copy (on Steam or GOG) will be getting access to the beta. (I believe the key for the beta is set to update to the final copy later on.) SURVEY: If you backed during the campaign, you should have received an e-mail from Fangamer some time in September. That's the survey. The link you received is personalized to you—it's basically your Bloodstained account. So by clicking the link (copy and paste it into your browser window if the link is broken), you can edit or update your survey. If you can't find your survey e-mail, and you're sure you're looking in the e-mail account you had associated with your Kickstarter account during the Bloodstained campaign, e-mail us at orders@fangamer.com with all the information you can give us. (But definitely look first—we've already received hundreds of requests from people, so it might take a few days for us to help you.) DEMO+SURVEY: We're sending the demo to everybody who pledged at $60+ and filled out their survey by June 13. So you have until then to back—if you haven't already—or fill out your survey, if you haven't done that. If you have filled out your survey, you're golden! Enjoy the demo. Hope that clarifies things a little! What... what if I haven’t backed the Bloodstained project at all? You can still receive the demo if you back the project through igavania.com/back and pick a $60+ tier by June 13!
