But I would think they will wait a bit longer, or just not put up the promotion video on youtube, where almost everyone in the world can see it It's like Konami purposely trying to piss off the fanbase itself I don't think they're trying to provoke anyone. It seems like a regular thing a business would do nowadays; they're trying to promote themselves, gain some visibility, and give their new audience something to actively look for the next time they go to an arcade. If Konami fans get angry about the MGS3 pachinko machine, we'd just be giving them free publicity for something we probably weren't going to play anyway. To me, it's not good or bad. It's just... neutral. Possibly chaotic neutral. But neutral nonetheless. I don't see the point of having that much publicity if Konami is not exporting the pachinko machine worldwide Because the only place that is legal to have pachinko machine in Asia that I know is Singapore Sentosa there, there is a legal gambling house here, and in the West I would think of is Las Vegas as to be the biggest one in the States, I guess (correct me if I'm wrong) So, that is my take on it, if Konami will not export the pachinko machine, unless if they ARE going to export it, then I can see why they aimed for such publicity

Because the internet is viewable by the public on a global scale, people can watch the video even if it's not intended for their region. Since people keep sharing or providing links to trailer, the video takes on a life of its own, gets more views than Konami ever intended, and the pachinko machine looks more important than it actually is.

gambling is illegal, how they get around that is rather ingenious, its built like a chuck e cheese with an extra step, you buy the balls, win more balls by playing the game, and when youre done you turn in those balls for prizes, and the extra step is you then sell those prizes back (dont know if its to a different counter or a sister company, but im betting theres some seperation of transactions that makes this work) for a fixed amount, therefore its not actually gambling its commerce, and thats how they get around that law, and right now its so lucrative the politicians look the other way

^ Yeah, that's exactly what I'd heard. From what I understood, the exchange for money was actually a separate business a short bit away, unaffiliated officially, but not there by coincidence.
And yeah, after watching this, it's nowhere near as ridiculous as what they've done with Castlevania lol. Like I've said elsewhere, I can't really be mad or disappointed at this point, and I think other Konami fans shouldn't either. I mean now, it's like "oh, Satan's being evil again, how disappointing!"

Dammit, got me excited for a second there.
Never played MGS3 so a proper remake would have been nice, but than again didn't they release a HD pack of some MGS games some time ago?

Not surprised one bit about this. To say I'm dissapointed would be an understatement.
Luckily, that trailer in particular has been downvoted to hell. Even with the fact that their target audience is now 100% pure asia gambling markets, pretty sure people upstairs at Konami are starting to get the feeling more than half of their fanbase is utterly, utterly gone.
If they do something about it or not is something completely different. Only time will tell if their new tactics worked. Judging by how Nacmo-Bandai microtranstactions affair worked (and by "worked" I mean "it didn't"), I'm betting this won't either. Any company that things that it can survive on the domestic market alone without a huge drop in profits is insanely deluded.
