Just don't break the game down in 40 parts and market it as one piece.. Please ^^) Galamoth is sure that won't be a problem. :3

Not even including the PayPal backers, over 25,000 backers (About 40% of supporters for this game) are getting the $60 physical edition or the 100$ Physical Alchemist's Treasure bundle.
Being one of those people, I definitely don't want to have to wait to play a game that I supported, loyally back in early stages of Kickstarter development, while Digital backers play months before me. That'd just be unfair
Also I don't really see the problem with staggered content release for Physical editions. Just look at Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows was released as free DLC and the gender swap content, local PVP, King Knight and Specter Knight content will all be released as free DLC just the same. I own Shovel Knight on a 3DS Card and I've had no troubles yet. Games get updates all the time, so why is this suddenly a question of concern for Bloodstained?

"I think people are getting off the point of this thread. The main point is most people who bought a physical copy want ALL pertinent content of the solo experience on disc when it arrives PERIOD." I honestly don't think so. I am getting the physical edition and I certainly don't expect that. Most likely the majority of physical backers do not expect 100% completion upon release either BUT if they do I can assure you they won't ask for that priviledge ovcer receiving the game upon its first release date. Any Kickstarter is going to want to see the fruits of the investments the first day available. Again just look at Shovel Knight's methods. I hope this issue gets addressed in a future update. I feel this is a pressing manner to clearly define before people get their hopes up to high in a certain direction. (More pressing than Miriam's bust size anyways ) ... (I'm kidding please don't kill me forum)

As I've said before, I backed at a purely physical tier and I'm very much NOT okay with waiting weeks, if not MONTHS after the initial release to receive the game. That just isn't fair to me or anyone who backed at $100 plus in my opinion.
What I expect in the initial launch: -full camaign -Boss Rush Mode -All 3 playable characters -Sound test -Local Co-OP -Costumes -NG+ -Nightmare difficulty -cheat codes -speed run mode
The standard IGA package
What I expect to get later/seperate: -Online features/co-op -Roguelike Mode -Boss Revenge Mode -Prequel minigame -classic mode

That'd just be unfair Exactly the point I'd made that seemed to have killed the thread a couple of weeks ago, lol. It's true, though. I can't blame them for wanting an ideal physical product immediately. We want what we want. That demand as consumers, idealistic or illogical as it may sometimes be, at least spurs the creation of superior products more often than not to try and sate at least a few of those demands. It's silly how things work that way, but you may have not gotten your brand new Super Nintendo for Christmas if you hadn't have listed off that, a pony, a bike, the entire Power Rangers and Transformers line and a BB gun on Santa's lap all at the same time.

I think anybody expecting a physical copy almost straight away or not long after the game is actually released has unrealistic expectations. It seems like it would be really hard to organise a simultaneous physical release on multiple platforms given the stretch goals reached, the time frame to get it all (the content) done and funds to do it.
I paid for the Baldur's Gate Collector's Edition back in March and I'm still waiting for the physical content. The communication from the devs gave a bit of insight into the organising of such a release and the difficulties etc. No surprises really, it's a game from a small dev studio who don't have the budget of for example Bethesda, who can seemingly with ease organise a simultaneous multi platform physical release, with multiple physical variants of the game alongside a digital release.
This isn't a problem for me however as there was a digital copy given to me as well. So if anything the Kickstarter Tiers that are missing a digital copy (I think that's the $60, $100 and $150 Tiers) should be adjusted to throw in a digital copy for the people out there who pledged at that Tier.

An off-topic question though, backers don't need to buy all these DLCs again, right?

If we were at a point where a digital version would be released with bugs, but soon be patched out, then I could see delaying a physical release. In that way the final physical release would be bug free so that any player picking it up at a store could play without any frustration.
However I don't think we need to worry about making sure all content is released for the physical copy, at least not if Bloodstained eventually gets released on the PS5 or something.

I am a backer of the $100 tier since before the kickstarter ended, and I voted for the second option. But frankly, it would be better if we did had an option in our surveys about if we want our physical copy to be "Complete" or "Day One", as some here have mentioned. It would save some people the trouble of debating this decision further.

Digital and physical needs to be released at the same time. Then all the additional or DLC content can be released on a secondary physical disc marked expansion or whatever they want to name it.

Digital and physical needs to be released at the same time. Then all the additional or DLC content can be released on a secondary physical disc marked expansion or whatever they want to name it. The thing is that the backer's versions will include the Backer Exclusive stuff, like Super Boss IGA and the Swordwhip, unlike the market version. And some of us here just want to opt for a more Complete Backer version of the Physical copy (Digital copy is fine as is). Which, as I mentioned in my previous post, would be nice if we were able to choose to have a complete copy or a launch copy in our surveys, instead of having to vote for a generalized result of "either both release or delay physical". I think it's best for the $60/$100 tier backers to have this choice, right? The game's not gonna come soon enough, so for that reason, there is more than enough time to discuss what I proposed. Or not, and continue to argue based on the poll choices.

My own two cents:
Both should be released at the same time. I'm a physical + digital backer but I can't imagine physical-only backers wanting to wait months for their copies while digital backers are already playing. Either release both when the core game is ready and release the bonus stuff as codes via email, or hold both until EVERYTHING is ready and release then. If they choose to do the former, they could release a "Complete Edition" later down the line for the people who want everything on disc. Either way, both should be released at the same time.

I think Physical and Digital should be released at the same time.
RE: Bloodstained release content The only thing I am really concerned about is whether they release the game as episodic content or as a whole game. It would ruin the game for me to have it released as episodic content. I couldn't stand to play say chapters 1-3 and then have to wait a month or two to get chapters 4-6 and so on and so forth. I want the entire game (minus DLC and other goodies) in one go as the main release for the game.
