That does look like a potentially interesting concept. I do wonder what the different shaded blades of identical weapons would signify. What do different shades of the same model usually signify in a videogame? Arbitrarily stronger/weaker versions of the same thing, or different stats completely.

Usually yes, indeed, though the specifics have yet to be seen for this game. _ghost 'Tis worth speculation, though! I would hope that some versions of the same weapon would have different stats and/or different base damage. (EDIT): Why isn't there a wineglass emote?

My theory would be that, when she gets progressively consumed by the crystals, the weapon she holds at that time is slightly affected as well, changing appearence and having different stats. Higher power but a higher price to pay as well? If that is the case, there's one thing I wonder about: the colour pattern. Should it be dark or more of a red/crystal pattern?

They used a similar concept in the souls series, cursed weapons that drain your health but are extremely useful early on, of course you could offset those with some sort of accessory that stopped health drain. Maybe Iga will implement something like that in this game.

ok Thomas is doing a thread about Traversal Mechanics I think there should be those mechanics for certain weapons too like the whip to get over large gaps

Anyone remember the "Arabaki" enemy from Harmony of Dissonance? (It behaves similarly to the "Schmoo" from Symphony of the Night) Based on the symbol of rebellion in Shinto, Arahabaki. I'd bring up more about this kind of enemy/possible familiar in another thread...but I think the inclusion of clay idol-like enemies inspired by Arahabaki might also include Rare Drops of another Japanese-themed weapon. Maybe something like " Kagenui", perhaps as a "ninjato"/dagger imbued with the Dark-Attribute...maybe it could "Curse" enemies too.

I'm biased I've been saying I want button combination spells but in all reality I want MIriam's version of Dark Metamorphosis with the same button combination......
I just felt...really Bad*** with that spell. haha

XD If you ask me, I think fisting weapons similar to the Kaiser Knuckle or Fist of Tulkas in previous Castlevania games would be able to suffice in Bloodstained. *Ahem*, excuse me. Before I even say anything, if any campaign staff or new folks are seeing this topic for the first time, check out Cale's contribution starting near the end of the first page. I'm a bit disappointed in myself. Had I known what the swordorwhip poll would end up deciding, I would have left Clan Katana and tried to get into Rapier because I love fancy hilted Western swords. Not specifically just rapiers themselves, but things like basket hilted swords, cut & thrust/side swords, schiavona (there was one in Curse of Darkness), etc. I own this sword, personally: www.sword-buyers-guide.com/side-sword.htmlIga's games are great at including weapons from myths and legends, mixing in a lot of historical stuff. I'm sure he won't disappoint us, but is too bad that I voted like a thousand times for a katana, lol. I do like those, don't get me wrong, they're objectively the most beautiful weapons for sure, but just not "me" as much.

That sword is really beautiful! I personally have only used stock whips (just for show) and machetes (for navigating through jungle) in reality. It'd be nice to see an authentic katana in real life. I only knew about the weapon poll after it had ended. I probably would have chosen Rapier as well, due to how fun it was to use in SOTN (that and the werebane).
Has anyone suggested a limited-hit weapon yet btw? Something like Fire Emblem has, where you can only use it a limited amount of times. To balance it out/make it worth finding/crafting, it would have to have a significantly higher damage output than normal weapons, or maybe even unique attacks (like the sword lasers from the older Zelda games).
