I watched The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya back in 2007. One of the first animes I watched when I started watching them online. Ah, those were the days. Watching anime on youtube... Anime was definitely more...free to watch (in decent quality), in the earlier days of YouTube. I remember many uploaded episodes of some series being taken down throughout the years (for varying reasons).

I have a vague idea of what animes I watched when I was first starting out, though I don't remember the exact order or time I watched them. Some of them would be Chobits, FMP: Fumoffu, Clannad, Elfen Lied, Love Hina... I think I watched those on youtube too back then. Nowadays, I never watch anime through a streaming site. I always torrent them and watch them in their highest quality. Are you a fellow Toonami veteran? Of course. I remember going home from elementary school in anticipation to watch DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, and other animes. Though I don't count those when making my modern anime list. It was too long ago. Since then, I have marathoned Yu Yu Hakusho, and Inuyasha, etc.

Also, since I just want to know, what do you think of CGI in anime?

Some CGI animes I've seen would be Appleseed(2004 movie), Sidonia no Kishi, .hack//G.U. Trilogy, and .hack//Sekai no Mukou Ni. They're all pretty good. If it's a mix of 2D animation and CGI, it depends on if the CGI blends well or not. As for how I watch the anime I torrent, I either watch them on my PC, or move them to my Galaxy S4 and watch them on MX Player.

Most people I've discussed that with was either complete hate on CGI or just love for it. I for one don't exactly mind it and when there is the mix of 2D animation and CGI, The CGI really only does well for fighting. I also feel I have a little too much love for Non Non Biyori. I've watched the first season probably around 50 times and with the second season I've watched each episode for the week after they aired. Except for the latest episode. Haven't watched anime in a week and the amount of time that will be taken up by those is at least 24 hours. I have a secluded weekend ahead of me.

Heh, I try not to watch an anime more than once, no matter how good it is. If I did, I'd be stuck on a couple animes forever, and not have time for any other anime. Though there was a time before I had a smartphone that I would play the first season of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya(2nd season wasn't announced yet) on my iPod nano on loop. I don't now why, I guess there was just something about that anime I loved. Here's the OP.

That's what happened with the Akuma no Riddle OP for me. The OP I love most right now is the Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku OP

Man this is always a hard one! I guess my favorite anime/manga series would be: FruitsBasket (manga) Inuyasha (manga/anime) Ouran High School Host Club (manga/anime) Sailor Moon ( Manga/anime) Sword Art Online (anime) Kamisama Kiss (manga/anime) Sgt. Frog (anime) Full Metal Alchemist (manga/anime) Moribito (anime) The irregular at magic high school(anime Devil is a Part Timer (anime) Chobits (anime/manga) Kotoura-san (anime)
The list could go on and on --_-- I've watched way to many series and read too much, it is so hard to pick out favorites >_<

Has anyone here ever watched/read "DearS"?
Or "Green Green"?
The latter is hilarious. At least, I remember it that way.

I watched The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya back in 2007. One of the first animes I watched when I started watching them online. Ah, those were the days. Watching anime on youtube... When I first started watching anime digitally, it was in RealMedia format. And in some cases it was a Spanish dub with English subtitles. Oh god, is Freeza ever hilarious to listen to in Spanish...

I do have some favorites, I'm not the seasonal anime watcher like quite a few of my friends, nor am I the guy that outright ignores it or hates it.
Mobile Suit Victory Gundam (Anime) Monster (Manga) JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (Manga) Cowboy Bebop (Anime) Grave of the Fireflies (Favorite Ghibli Movie) Gunbuster (Anime/OVA) Riding Bean (Movie)
There might be some more, but those are off the top of my head.

In this day and age I find my self more into Western animation, over Anime, never been a fan of comics/manga so I wont comment on it.
But of the anime I do enjoy now a days, I do like Ouran High school Host Club its essentially a Reverse Harem Anime about a girl surounded by a bunch of guys, and shes too busy being indiferent to them to want to be with any of them. Love Sailor Moon, grew up on the show as a kid when it aired on Toonami on Cartoon Network after school, and have recently grown to love (somewhat) recent anime: Black butler and Madoka Magica. I also love the Mu Shishi series, its just so bizarre and thought provoking, I get nightmares from it some times but I can't help but want to keep watching.

You have some nice choices and how is Mushishi? I never hear anyone talk about that so I have no idea what it is about. Also Have you seen the Madoka Magica movies?
