I will be waiting...... in the shadow...... Your avatar = Win I'd recognize that symbol anywhere. Good thing that the main character we'll be controlling in Bloodstained is an Alchemist too. I thought so too, but re-reading the lore, it seems Miriam is not technically an alchemist, she was taken in by alchemists. Now we know that they did the crystal experiment on a bunch of kids, but we don't know if they were under a friendly guise in the beginning, or if they decided to try and teach the kids any alchemy. We shall see.

Well we have an alchemist as the Heroine, so different potions would be my go to. Not so sure about that, I thought that Johannes was the alchemist. Miriam is more like a freshly awakened amnesiac with massive magical potential. If Johannes is playable, he'd probably have alchemical items and more traditional sub-weapons, while Miriam might have magic spells to fill that same role. But, if I could pick between "Miriam, Johannes, and an as of yet unrevealed third character" and "Miriam, Gebel, and an as of yet unrevealed third character" as options to play as, I'd go for the variant with Gebel in it. He looks much too Alucard-y (which I'm sure was intentional) not to go with. I guess it's not established that she's an alchemist, but seeing as she was taken in by alchemists, I assumed she might have learned from them, or at least have access to their equipment since the castle appeared at the site of the old Alchemist’s Guild. So she most likely isn't an alchemist herself, but it would make sense that alchemy would be the most likely substitute for sub-weapons.

I found sub-weapons to be very useful. Usually there were enemies with unique traits, or at least traits you weren't able to deal with easily at the beginning of the games. Some monsters were flying and you didn't have double jump, the axe was perfect to help you out. Some monsters were high Def, but weak to holy, but you didn't have holy damage until much later, so those monsters died fairly quickly to holy water. Some enemies were fast and had powerful knock backs, in which case you needed the dagger to kill them safely. The stopwatch was universally useful, from stopping enemies, to unlocking secrets, it's major drawback was the high cost. They were never meant to be your main choice of attack, but rather a utility depending on the situation. With the removal of sub-weapons I am wondering if enemies will be more tame. Will they all walk up to you in a straight line to be slaughtered? Will secret rooms only need you to attack walls? I hope we will have something in place of sub-weapons rather than just the removal. these are the kind of answers i'm looking for. Thanks for that Cale XD oh and here's another question what would you replace the sub-weapons with? I got mine here (just for fun): Axe - Kinetic blade (like a saw blade that gets faster and faster) Dagger - throwing cards (I would like it to be deeper. like each deck has a different elemental base. the player would have to find different decks to use different elements) Well we have an alchemist as the Heroine, so different potions would be my go to. You could have effects like pools of acid, explosions, smoke, sublimation, induration, liquefaction. Toss a vial into the air, it explodes into a rain of acid (arcs like the axe, then falls vertically). Throw a vial at the ground and you could have an fiery explosion, or a quick freezing effect (replace holy water, or single target stopwatch). Throw a fast solidifying liquid that turns into a blade mid air, like quicksilver (dagger). A smoke bomb could be used as a poison; damage over time, or status debuff. Flash-bangs could be used as a slow or a stun. If anyone has seen thermite in action you know that is some powerful "magic", it could easily replace the cross.

Actually, I really wish for an epic castle, where the outside would be far more used than in SotN
(I'll edit later all the ideas I've had that I lost trying to send a previous post) The opening scene with Alucard in SotN looked really interesting. Wish we could have explored the forest, and all the trees in the background of the Royal Chapel, or the area behind the Colosseum.

Giant Library. Every castle needs at least one. A chapel, great for castles. All that stone, must get pretty dull. . . grey, grey, grey, maybe throw in a garden? Torture chamber, required. Barracks, required. Master Bedroom. . . 9gif
I lost track of my thoughts. . . Carry on.

I know many people who finished the game at 100% and thought that it's the whole game. When I told them about inverted castle their jaws dropped. Well, the fact is that the first castle is already very big. This is one of the most shocking story in gaming history. Imagine the efforts that went into castle(s) design ... Rotn achievement :'biggest castle IGA have created' I wonder if they mean it'll be bigger that 2 sotn castle combined. I hope so; but it makes me think, is there such a thing as a castle too large? Serious question, can too much content ruin the idea? This question can span all aspects of the game. Too many weapons, too many monsters, too many secrets?

I don't know. . . I always thought of familiars as utilities. Giving them items seems a little too in depth to me. You have support, damage, defensive, silly, and a few other types of familiars. They are not supposed to be their own character, but more of a tool for use. I like brainstorming, but I think it just adds a layer to the game that it doesn't need, and the same result can be accomplished in ways we already have implemented. We want the familiar to do more damage? We could instead make our weapon deal more damage, or have a spell level up if you don't want to get close to an enemy. And the familiars will most likely have a level system in place anyway, so just by levelling them they will become more powerful. As for familiar armour, If Iga keeps in line with most games, then the familiar won't even be attackable. weapons and armor doesn't necessarily have to raise the familiars' stats... they could just change the looks of the familiars and the weapons don't need to raise their attack but maybe give them different attacks animations or something Well that is perfectly acceptable to me. Heck that's more than acceptable, now I want this in the game! _ghost

#49914, June 10 2015 I heard about it from Liam when they were playing Aria of Sorrow. I was mulling over how much I was going to pledge, I put a reminder in my calendar so I wouldn't miss it. Eventually I decided on Grimoire, then I begged my wife for permission to spend so much on a game that wouldn't be out for almost 2 years. 9gif rules my house. I too had to get approval from the wife. I got away with $60, then the 1st upgrade to $150. It was when PSVita goal was hit that I upped to $175 at the wife's irritated approval, but I wasn't allowed to go any higher. She also said I better play the hell outta this game paying that much for something 2 yrs out. I got a little leeway though, because she's a bit of a gamer too, just not as dedicated as me, lol. Ya? That's good lol. I feel a bit guilty now though, I didn't think after shipping and conversion it would add another 25% on to what I pledged XD Lucky my wife is easy going.

Currently replaying it, 9 hours in and still item hunting. But 200% map and 2 max level familiars, so I'm on my way! Also, does anyone know a faster way to level Alucard? I am farming those Guardians And it is taking forever, the xp drop off after lvl 65 is crazy!

I am talking about the ones from Castlevania SotN. Alura Une is also known as the Venus Weed. There is the pink haired one that is fed with human blood, she has white skin and grey rose petals. Then there is the Blue Alura Une, also known as Blue Venus Weed, which is basically the same as the Venus Weed, but fed with demon blood. This one has orange hair, green skin, and blue rose petals. If you get hit enough times the petals change to a red colour as if it is drinking your blood. 9gif I wanted to recreate her in game animation so I turned on SotN. I could only get her to do a couple of really quick moves that didn't look that cool so I just made up my own animation from the SotN sprite sheet. Too much fun! My chair is no longer a chair, I fell off it so hard it turned into a Amazing work!!!!

About the age and experience thing. I don't think that Miriam was 8 when she went into the coma anymore. If you read my fanfic and comic based around putting some logic to that it's clear that was my initial thought. From what I've gathered in the external links section and from the official art that shows the three characters "in halpier times" I now believe that the guys were twenty and Miriam was 18 when she went into the coma. Then she didn't age or need to pee or anything until she woke up. That would put her at 18 with the fellas at 30. I bet it's either like that or my fan fic. But is she in love with wine!?! Will wine ever return her feelings? Who's that hussy hanging off of wine's arm all night? 9gif

Johannes supposedly left The Alchemists because he didn't like how they handled things. Although it's possible he left so he wouldn't get killed by Gebel during his Magi-curse induced rage which killed all of The Alchemists. We might be onto something here, lol. Ya, the whole thing reeks of Johannes being in the know, and letting things unfold this way so he can manipulate things to his own end. I am assuming he is using Gebel to cause a mess, and he probably will use Miriam to clean it up and come out on top.

All these reasons make me believe wine would be my only companion. Oh wine, how I love you. In vino veritasAre you implying a depressing Miriam? Anyway, I can see her addicted to wine *insert wine glass emoticon here*, lol. About the romance, given a good reason I really don't care about that, but Arcueid has some points. Nevertheless, I suspect Johannes and Gebel have something to do with that Miriam's amnesia, they probably hold some kind of dark secret Are you accusing gentle Johannes of a misdeed? Shaaaaaaaame. . . *Walks away* *Quiet voice* Shaaaaaaaaame. . .
