Now that I've beaten this game.... This might have been the most bittersweet ending Iga's ever written.(Order of Ecclesia and Portrait of Ruin considered)
It's really bleak and it makes me wonder if the character DLCs are expansions on the story or completely story-less...or like Curse of the Moon being unrelated.
Yeah, we all called it.

This game is all I've...all WE'VE ever wanted for many many years. Even in it's base form, none of the DLC considered, it delivered on everything I had personally hoped for. I hope that you will continue to make more games like this.
Thank you Iga.

After defeating the true final boss, I came across a sound glitch where static would play throughout the ending cutscenes. It didn't stop until the credits.
I "fixed" my last issue with the constant freezes by reinstalling the game.

It's going to be on Switch also? Wonder how I missed that. I never see any conversation about this game or updates anywhere at all. I subbed to the youtube channel, the website is dead, gamefaqs is dead. I know hardly anything about this game at all, it seems. I'm a backer, and while I do appreciate that they are quietly toiling away at the game like they should...the double edged sword is exactly that. Even their frequently updated twitter account(I hate twitter and don't have one anymore, so I barely go on there to check on certain things) just has screenshots with cheeky comments and maybe a 20 second clip of a song. As far as backer updates, we haven't gotten even a small one since March and no the "last chance to confirm your address" posts aren't being considered. They are pathetically sparse. Many have said a lot about this campaign and such, but at the very least they TRIED to get to us monthly or bi-monthly. At least a "Hey, we're still alive" sort of deal? On their twitter, I found the screenshots I mentioned, as well as musical previews and the like: twitter.com/indivisibleRPGHere's an idea, why not update backers on the indiegogo?? Are you trying to tell me that it's too much effort for what basically amounts to a forum post? Even small snippets like that keep the game alive in people's minds. Even if they're nowhere near ready for release, which makes me think that "summer 2019 trailer" was premature and a mistake. That's my perspective on that. This is from a guy that's always been in their corner from every mishap, misfortune, and piece of drama.

Definately looking forward to this game. Metroidvania meets Valkyrie Profile with a female MC? Shut up and take my money! Kinda wish Anju was in Bloodstained, now. Shantae as well.
I was not able to back this, though. Maybe it's for the best. I was barely able to back Bloodstained, and had to be a lowly slacker backer. Would have loved to be able to give at least 150.00
Sadly, there is no planned Switch version, or I would double dip.
I'm thinking you meant "Ajna"? I bet Shantae would have been thrown into Bloodstained if Wayforward were there from the start.(That wouldn't have been possible since they had their own kickstarter game to make at the time) This game's funding campaign was slow, grueling, and borderline desperate. I don't blame you or anyone for not being able to support it when they had the chance. When Skullgirls had their character funding, there was at least a lot of buzz around the original game. This is a new IP...and for a different genre so that was going against it a bit. If by no planned Switch version, you meant that about Indivisible...I've got some news for you:

Agreed, although there is an option to turn off the animation entirely in the options. Just in case you didn't see it that is.

Maybe something borked slightly after yesterdays patch? I usually get notified through steam if I get any sort of update. I also verified the integrity of the game files, I still get constant freezes. Looking on the steam forums, I hear people having the same issue. It makes progress almost impossible.

If I could make my own game, it would be a mixture of an immersive sim like Deus Ex(any of them), with a deep cyberpunk aesthetic and a deep combat system a-la Devil May Cry 3, 4, or 5. I mean real choice and consequence with a high reward/consequence for avoiding combat as well as engaging in it. Eye: Divine Cybermancy is a bit close to what this could be like, save for how impenetrable the story is.(And how janky it was)
I would also love to make a full on action game where it isn't just the enemies that are destructible. I want to make it so that the environments aren't just destructible, but usuable in the combat as well with out the use of QTEs. Think DMC5 or Bayonetta 2, but you'd be able to incorporate telephone poles or beer bottles into a fight as well. As far as characters and where this would take place, I have no idea. My first idea sounds more fleshed out.
Other ideas that I've had, such as every NPC having a story(the Trails series), has usually already been utilized in a fun way.

Kojima's art is goddamn incredible for this game. Unfitting, my big toe. I was one of those guys who didn't know about Mana's involvement with all of this until about....4 months ago. What she's done is great, but for me Kojima stands unrivaled.

I'm going to call it. This was one of the worst E3s in years and it's been downhill for a while, bright spots notwithstanding.
This is from a Dragon Quest and Banjo Kazooie fan by the way, so the best announcements for me were two characters in Smash, one that I've always wanted (Banjo) and one I didn't even realize that I wanted (Dragon Quest Hero) and a superior port of the best JRPG in about 8 years. (DQ XI) Seiken Densetsu 3/Trails of Mana was too little, MUCH too late to be frank, even if it looks sweet. No More Heroes 3 is hard to get super excited for with Modern Grasshopper Studios.
As much as I like the concept of Cyberpunk 2077, it's obviously going through some trouble. Keanu Reeves was a recast of a character and it's been going on 7 years in development. I like CD Projekt Red and I want to see the game succeed, but those rumors of trouble are starting to sound accurate. But this was a game that was already announced.
Everything else? It was either I knew about it already with Doom: Eternal and Cyberpunk or it looked downright awful or the conferences were boring. Even Devolver's parody dropped the ball.
Two DLC characters and a port...that was my completely positive takeaway from this E3. Wow.

I am now once again convinced of the possibility that it could be one of the 72 Demons. I might be missing a joke earlier in the thread, but would some of the 72 demons not be part of Boss Revenge perhaps?

I'm with Galamoth. Unless they scrapped the concept of having too many shards or the slow crawl of your curse, then that's a fine solution.
One of the alternatives is an extreme punishment for normal gameplay with a story line contrivance which forces or causes an ending(Examples such as Undertale or Spec Ops the Line come to mind). I refuse to be punished for playing a metroidvania/Igavania and I highly doubt Iga would do this.

This is all worst case scenario, but I don't think he should fully come back to Konami. If anything, he should work as a contractor. Also, a game about Quincy? Sure, but I better get a 1999 game IF he does want to go back to Konami for Castlevania.

SOTN had a bittersweet ending, Order of Eclessia had a bittersweet ending, Portrait of Ruin had a bittersweet ending, Curse of the Moon had one too and that one isn't like the others, so I'm no stranger to that happening in Igavanias.
This story, from the little we got from it has the potential to go towards a that style of ending. Unless Iga had plans for many different protagonists in in the future, Miriam dying would be a waste. I am curious about the world building for this game though. That would determine how sequels could be made. Castlevania had Dracula rezzing every 100 years...or some asshole mage reviving him too early to get around that. Bloodstained having something similar to that might be too familiar, so I wonder if he'll go a different route.

What's sad is that despite them diligently and quietly working on it, the trade off is that there are still people that either forgot about this or flat out thought it was canned. Once I read that latter part, I was in disbelief. Lab Zero isn't like the typical loud mouth indie studio, and Skullgirls got its popularity slowly but surely.(Since it was in development for MUCH longer anyway)
I hope people give this game a shot when it drops.

The real meat of this update update honestly feels like more of the same from the last update, which was a mess and a half already. I said my piece in the last thread like many others, so there's no need to go into again. I will say that the launch will be absolutely nerve-racking for super fans that care too much about IGN reviews and first-responders on Steam. To those people, I'm going to preemptively say relax as things tend to balance out throughout the week. I've already given up the hope that there won't be a first day patch, so if they missed something huge it could be squashed faster than the recent Blood: Fresh Supply remaster. As for Zangetsu being playable? Fantastic, he was top of the list next to GEBEL the G.O.A.T. and Johannes.
