I certainly can't wait to have the game in my library and play it as soon as possible. Whenever they manage to release it is fine, but I am impatient haha
I don't think I'll ever follow a game's development as closely as I did this time though. Continuous expectations build up, impatience on my side, having to deal with misinformed sheit ralkers on the net and a long wait overall... This community is cool but I don't believe I'll commit this much to another game in the future haha

The usual elements present in an IGAvania: a hard/nightmare mode, boss rush and bonus characters. Cheat codes will probably be there from the get go but as far as I'm concerned everything else is novelty/extra, so I wouldn't mind not receiving those modes right away.

If I don't like it, I won't like it no matter if it's optional or not. I don't think I have to say more than I did in my first post: in some games, I'd like to have an experience that was meticulously designed and balanced. I wouldn't play a Devil May Cry game by tweaking different parameters for monsters' health and such, I wouldn't do it in a 2D sidescroller, but I would do it (and in fact I do) for example for Hitman (2016) or Darkest Dungeon, because they are a very different type of game.
I understand that some may like this and I won't tell those people they're wrong by any means. But I also won't say that anything is cool so long as it's optional if I have to speak my mind and if I don't like one thing in particular. Hell, I even say I'm not enthusiastic about the roguelike mode, because it's not something I particularly associate with carefully designed metroidvanias and I would have preferred it not to be the focus on some resources at some point of the development, and I'll always think that even though it's optional and I may not touch the mode at all. That's not to say I'm bashing those who can't wait to go for it, I'm just saying my two cents of the matter.

HAHAHAHAHAH even they don't know what the hell they're doing, they're mixing monsters, characters and music from every timeline to create the ultimate trash pachinko!

I gifted myself Persona 5 for Christmas. Now I'm so pumped, can't wait for it to arrive. JRPG is a genre that I really want to love but I am extremely picky about it and I don't enjoy too many games. Persona is one of those series I love so I'm really excited.

I liked most of them but my favorites would have to be the Devil Forgery from CoD and the Soul Dominance. The first is my absolute favorite because you had so many options for fighting, exploration and variety it was insane, and it was addicting to discover all the devils. The second because of the sheer amount of powers you had and because stealing the enemies' power is cool.
I also really like DSS and Glyph system, but the first feels a bit "out of place" within the game world (what's up with all the deities?) and the second while exceptionally fluid and fun does streamline things a bit, in the sense that magics are now basically the same as weapons (which is not bad per se but it's less "woah" than other systems).

Arcueid Brunestud : what was your operative system? I'm a massive Lovecraft fan and I've already wanted to play Dark Corners of the Earth but I always held back, scared by the tales of complete unplayability and horrifying bugs on modern OSs lol I bought some things thanks to Steam sales, but no big games. Currently I'm playing Okami HD on PC (it's as incredible as I remembered, no wonder it's my 2nd favorite game of all times), as well as the first episode of Hitman 2016 which is currently free (I didn't think it would have interested me that much but I'm hooked, there are so many possibilities and unlike the older games the feel is very smooth) Might & Magic Clash of Heroes (I already played the DS version years ago, fun little game) and Electronic Super Joy (to satisfy my thirst for tough platformers). I have a ton of games to start. To name a few: Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and 3D from the PS4 Collections, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Tales of Berseria (just bought for sale, never played a Tales of but this one intrigued me and the price was low enough), FEZ and Layers of Fear (which I grabbed for free on Humble Store). I shouldn't buy anything new for the time being (time is what it is and exams are incoming, I can't play hours and hours every day...) but I'll PROBABLY pick up one new game for the PS4 in the near future. Either Horizon or Crash N Sane Trilogy.

Very good update, I loved it.
The new environment - it's great. A really cool shift from the usual Castlevania-ish locations we are accustomed to when IGA is involved. Very nice and faithful to the concept images. This is looking very promising.
The song - it's great. Another shift from the ordinary, but I loved it nonetheless. It probably helps that I'm playing Okami HD at the moment and that song reminds me of Okami's OST lol
What I didn't like - footsteps sound (confirmed WIP in the video comments), the jump which is still way too fast imo (it looks like Miriam teleports instantly to her jump apex or something), the "drop down" animation could be improved and I REALLY don't like how, on tilted platforms, we see that grey shade of Miriam's boots. Oh well, it's mostly nitpicking and I think these minor things will be ironed out later. If they aren't - heh, not that big of a deal, it still looks wicked.

I'm not really into it. Sure, I know of the common opinion "if it's an extra option it's all good" but the truth is that in some games (such as this) I'd like to play a game that's been designed and fine-tuned (difficulty included) by the developers, without me tweaking the smallest parameters. In games such as Hitman or the one mentioned by the OP, the idea of difficulty is vastly different than the idea of difficulty for a 2D Metroidvania and this is not a type of game in which I would enjoy myself while "screwing around" lots of modifiers and options. Of course I know that for some the idea of a fully customisable difficulty level would be great, but I'm just not that type of player.

I chose Corrupted, Angelic (in lieu of Pure Miriam which isn't included here but I love it), Succubus (not too explicit, keeping it tasteful, but a bit of sexy and revealing demon is up my alley) and Vampire. Though I have to say, I would've picked up the Plague Doctor outfit if it were in the poll. Those masks are the best, and playing the Plague of Shadows campaign for Shovel Knight skyrocketed my love for the... "profession".

I'm very much into classic heavy/epic metal at the moment and I'm exploring a lot of recent releases in the genre. Most of them are really awesome, such as Visigoth, Eternal Champion, Satan's Hallow and Demon Bitch.
Right now I'm blasting some old school Manilla Road. Immortal album.

I don't really think it would be good to compromise on unique death animations. At best it would work for palette swapped enemies, of which I hope there will be none or as few as possible. Nobody is talking about ten seconds long animations, anyway, so I think it would be absolutely no problem from a technical viewpoint. Also, attack feedback until now hasn't been the best honestly, so that pretty much has to be tweaked

Definitely a unique animation per enemy. Most of theme should be centered around the crystal, but everything is cool as long as it's unique. An extra animation per enemy "weakness" would be the best of the best. For attacking, as many mentioned, the feel and weight of the weapons should be good, and the SFXs for every type of damage should be chunky and appropriate. As an extra, interactive damage numbers would be very fun. For example, a fiery color and flamey effect for fire damage, light blue and crackles for electric damage, and so on. The number flashing and shattering like crystal on the killing blow, too! As for the matter of violence: I think no one is suggesting gratuitous violence and gore on Manhunt levels, but we are an heroine sent to kill nasty demons, not to have tea with them they are, I think, inherently evil in the concept, there is no moral involved, so they are kind of walking punching bags. Vanquishing them should feel really fun and good, and sometimes a touch of blood and a LITTLE extra violence is what you need! IMO at least

I know of its existence but I absolutely don't know how it works. I'm not sure I'm interested though because with some friends we purchased Dark Souls the Board Game (so individual expense was manageable) but it came out pretty underwhelming and overlong IMO so I'm not sure if they really can capture Soulsborne's formula in a medium that isn't video games.

Only me that really find all these remake / remastered and same game for new systems very dull? How about making something new? Many other cool games are rumored to get remastered editions. I do not get it.. Would be fun to explore "more" than just "3D HD". You have a point, but not with games this old IMO. Medievil was a terrific game and a classic, but it also suffered from typical problems of that age, such as horrible hit detection, stiff controls and clunky camera. To remake this games, faithfully, is much appreciated, because it literally gives them new life (not only graphically, and even from that point of view it's pretty undeniable that early 3D games aged really badly in that department). On the other hand, remastering a game that came out on PS3 has little sense in my opinion, I only have PS4 so occasionally I enjoy the possibility of playing those games for the first time but retro compatibility should have sufficed to that need. Oh well. Yeah, remasters of recent games have little sense, but remakes of older games do have a purpose IMO, especially if it is also to fuel the making of a brand new episode. Besides, this game saw the release of many kick-ass, brand new games, so as long as they exist they can remaster the whole world as far as I'm concerned lol I won't buy the remasters/remake I think have no purpose but I'm not bothered by them, not in a year that saw titans like Horizon, Persona 5, Nier Automata, Hellblade, The Evil Within 2 and other big budget great games. Not even counting the indies.

They called it remastered but I refuse to call it such, because from the millisecond of the teaser it's quite obvious that it will be a remake like Crash. Probably 1:1, but still with assets redone from scratch.
Terminology aside, I LOVE IT! Probably the PS1 franchise I wanted to make a return the most (even though I wouldn't say no to some Spyro Trilogy 1:1 remake), possibly paving the road to a brand new game.
By far the best thing of the incredibly boring and shallow PS Experience this year.

I like this! Also, I'd like the ability to have one gun equipped in a dedicated slot and firing it with a dedicated button/command, so you can use guns and melee seamlessly. Guns seems to be very situational, so it would be a pain in the proverbial donkey to manually equip one anytime I want to use it (because I'd prefer the two loadouts to be dedicated to different builds entirely, such as a light focused one and a dark focused, not so much on "normal combat / gun combat"). Maybe it could be redundant with the projectile shards, but it could also add a layer of strategy to our equipment.
