XombieMike: Oh, and voice acting. All that makes for an awesome update, but not when it's old info. All of that does need to be in the update too, because all backers should know these things.

castledan: I get why you'd want to set your expectations at the right level. I think my optimism stems from three things:
May 22, 2017 21:05:56 GMT -6
castledan: 1. E3 is next month, and the last time around they teased the demo in the update before E3. We were teased the location and got info that we'd be receiving a demo. So it seems like it'd be weird to not do something similar in terms of tease what's at E3.
May 22, 2017 21:06:52 GMT -6
castledan: 2. All the voice work they've done recently. They've clearly TEASED it a lot, it seems like the perfect time to announce the voice actors BEFORE E3 when we most likely will full on hear the voices in a trailer or demo.

castledan: 3. Fangamer has had the assets for this update for a while and Steve said they had a lot to translate. Just felt like a sign that it's gonna be an important update. I could be wrong in my optimism but there's a big event looming close by...

castledan: It'd be a missed opportunity.

castledan: In famitsu IGA stated bloodstained is 20/30% done. That they need to increase development pace. Eek. Doesn't seem like a 2018 release to me if the previous bitsummit they said 10%
May 23, 2017 0:18:15 GMT -6
Goobsausage: How recent was the Famitsu issue that said that?
May 23, 2017 0:29:34 GMT -6
crocodile: It was a BitSummit interview published yesterday. However game development isn't linear. It's not X% every month but rather you spend a lot of the early months not generating a lot of content and then in the last months you generate a ton!
May 23, 2017 0:49:58 GMT -6
crocodile: Putting aside that % complete estimates are usually bullshit, just because it has taken them X months to get to 20/30% doesn't mean it will take that many months to make another 20/30% of the game - it will take them less.
May 23, 2017 0:51:24 GMT -6
Mana: castledancrocodile Right now it's 20-30% complete due to the fact mass-producing system isn't complete. Once we have these systems complete, the process afterward should come much faster
May 23, 2017 1:42:36 GMT -6
Pure Miriam: The "mass-producing system" means procedure generation, the math behind enemies stats and other things that are done automatically, right? So, when those things are finished, you can just turn on and see the magic happening before your eyes.
May 23, 2017 1:51:15 GMT -6
Pure Miriam: It is like RPG Maker, for those who use it before. You spend a ton of time doing the database, creating your math to the enemies stats, generating items, configuring your tilesets and a ton of other things. And then, the rest of the game goes way faster.
May 23, 2017 1:52:33 GMT -6
Pure Miriam: While you do that database thingy on RPG Maker, your game is normally not even 10% done. But when you finish those things, everything else goes rather smoothly. I'm not a programmer or anything, but i'm guessing that's what you meant, right Mana?
May 23, 2017 1:53:47 GMT -6
Mana: Pure Miriam I'm also not a programmer and not really too sure about the exact implementation. Lets say we have all enemy models completed, but if we only implemented 10% of it, that would really mean only 10% is actually complete inside the game.
May 23, 2017 1:58:33 GMT -6
Mana: Procedural generation is only used for the environment texture and models. Mass producing is how all all the readily available model, stats, text are implemented into the game system.
May 23, 2017 2:01:14 GMT -6
Pure Miriam: Oh, i see. It is not exactly what i said, but it is more or less the same thing. "Things that help the developer to develop" aren't 100% complete yet
May 23, 2017 2:03:32 GMT -6
Elfina Ashfield: Just saying my opinions tho, if IGA needs to delay the game to 2020 or something like that to make sure that the game is up to his standard I'm totally okay with that. Looking forward to E3 now.
May 23, 2017 5:45:16 GMT -6
Redogan: I wouldn't mind if Bloodstained were pushed back that far provided that we get updates that show good progress is being made. Deadlines can be extremely stressful. IGA and team should focus on steady on-pace progress and show the backers where they are.
