I also agree that we need more color in the environments. As of right now "Garden of Silence" just seem bland. Just like in Yäns example you can see that it's quite an easy fix.
Even though they couldn't give out more information about a new demo in this update I am very happy that they atleast adressed it!

Thanks Pure Miriam for making this topic (I've been meaning to but never got around doing so)
I really hope that the extra characters can level up and can equip items in Bloodstained. In previous Igavania titles there was really no incentive to explore the castle as the extra characters since you couldn't find any items of value. You just dashed to the bosses as fast as you could.
I don't think the extra mode need new dialogue and fleshed out story but a new end boss (like in DoS) would be nice.
Ofcourse they should focus on Miriam mode but like I said at the very least give the extra characters an equip screen.

Well it is more done now, and Miriam have had a few updates since, double jump included. How do you know that Enkeria? Have you been floating around their office like a dullahammer head and picking up juicy info?!

This is great Angel-Corlux! It's exactly what the latest update was missing....transparency, and it's so important. If the update would've said that we could expect more news in the coming weeks I think a lot of us wouldn't have been so upset in the first place.

Ya I'm dissappointed as well. It's not because I'm let down by my own hype it's because there's been talk about an alpha for quite some time and teased that it's coming soooon....and now when we finally get an update...not a single word about it.

I guess the constructive criticisms to take from this thread are that Miriam's idle animation could be more combat oriented. Idle stance animation options. Pick one of a few that you unlock, might be a thing that reflect most used weapons in the game or after a % use.Ya this would work. Or just add a stance for the weapon type you have currently equipped. The one we have now fits perfectly with the shoe type weapons.

Well, it is in fact the main reason why I dislike her. The other reason would be her overly effeminate animations. I mean come on, no real/skilled fighter, male or female, would ever stand in a similar pose to what is Miriam's idle animation. You don't do that and expect to survive in a castle full of demonic enemies. I completely agree with you here. I've been hoping that they at least change her idle stance though I don't think that will happen now. I want Miriam to come off as strong and the current animations (idle, shooting, whip) just doesn't do it for me.

Det är ju lite dött här i den skandinaviska hörnan men antar att de flesta skriver på den internationella delen av forumet istället =)
Ser fram emot våran early access/alpha nu i Augusti. Även fast jag helst skulle vilja hålla mig undan för att allt ska vara så nytt och spännande som möjligt på releasedagen så vet jag att jag kommer tugga i mig alphan direkt! =)

Ya wasn't it mentioned quite early that the inital $500k was 10% of the publisher backing? In any case I think we can firmly say that the total budget is probably over 10 million when taking the slacker backers in to account.

Unrelated to the issues I was discussing earlier, but still on the subject of analysis and critique, I started reading this and it has been an interesting read. Regarding why Bloodstained looks sluggish to a lot of people despite movement speed being more or less the same as in previous games. askagamedev.tumblr.com/post/161855768904/hi-not-sure-if-you-are-interested-inI always did think something looked off with Miriam's animations but I couldn't ever put my finger on what so I just kinda shrugged it off and decided I'd get used to it. EDIT: I semi agree with the second half about Miriam's pose, after looking it over again. I think it fits pretty well when unarmed/using combat shoes, but when using other weapons, the stance makes very little sense. YES! I really think that the answers in the link could be the solution here. Especially the stance....I wan't Miriam to be cool. The sword stance that appears for a few frames after she attacks is much better than the idle balancing on one foot stance.

As someone already said I really hope they give him an equipment menu of some sort. The bonus characters in the other IGAvanias always felt so barebones and I really don't think it would take that much extra time to program Zangetsu to be able to equip different katanas/armor. It makes the exploration part much more enjoyable instead of just finding HP/MP-ups.

Jag tror inte Wii U versionen kommer vara den värsta, tänk på att det ska komma en VITA version också. Ibland är jag orolig att just VITA-versionen kommer hålla tillbaka de andra versionerna av spelet eftersom de måste anpassa det till sämre hårdvara.
Kom på en annan sak angående förseningen, vi kommer ju troligtvis får Prequel-spelet 2017 så det är ju alltid något =)

Självfallet blev man ju besviken att det inte kommer 2017 men precis som alla på det här forumet så känns det fantastiskt att IGA är så ödmjuk och verkligen vill skapa ett nytt mästerverk.
Vilken nivå backade ni? Jag pledgade 300 dollar så blir fysisk Ps4 version och förhoppningsvis digital NX-version.
