Ok, so one thing that I have noticed about any of the IGAvania games is the unique nature of enemy drops. Most RPG's in todays day and age have some form of enemy drop, from a battle reward, to a storyline event that you acquire a new item letting you proceed further into the game. Well one signature thing in any IGAvania is sorta this "double drop' mechanic, and what I mean by this is that enemies may drop equipment, or they may drop abilities. Starting with Circle of the moon, and ending with Order of Eclessia, enemy drops have played a fundamental part in upgrading your character, and generally buffing them up, examples being Nathan's DSS cards, Soma's Soul Dominance, Shanoa's glyphs, ETC. Well one thing that I noticed while playing the e3 demo of Bloodstained, is the overwhelming familiarity that it share with both titles of Dawn/Aria of Sorrow, and Symphony of the Night. Like Dawn/Aria, you acquire 'something' from the enemies, and it essentially gives you their power to some degree. (DoS/AoS being Souls, RotN being Shards) Like Symphony of the Night, you can acquire 'Familiars' who will follow you and help you in combat. (whether the 'familiar' feature will be a toggled/sustained mode is still unknown of course) And there are other similarities in these titles, as well. Alucard's backdash is often compared to Miriam's on the kickstarter, or the wide array of weapons that she can wield, being similar to Soma.
In all honesty, I think that these are great features, and I can humbly say that Dawn of Sorrow is my favorite Castlevania game. Though I'm not so sure that everyone else is convinced that these are great features, and I've even seen some youtube comments about 'repetition' or '...shoulda tried something new'. What do you guys think? I'm totally stoked because it just looks like an IGAvania to me. Do you think that the shard system is too like DoS/AoS? Do you think that Miriam's backdash should be nerfed?

Ahahah, demo speedruns. Who knew it would be a thing. Unfortunately, I am TERRIBLE at speedruns so I won't be participating. However when the game comes out, I may be willing to do a 'hardcore mode' run, and post it here. :p

Like Castledan said, it just means that the castle will be much larger scale than any of the previous entries in the Castlevania series. :]

Hmmm...If I could pick my own, I would pick vampire Sorcerer, and use a lexicon as a weapon. (Similarly to Charlotte from PoR, or Zexion, from Kingdom Hearts, 358-2 days) :p

I agree it can be quite awkward simply because of the fact that SOME pieces of armor DO change her look, whilst other do NOT change it. I think that they should keep it so that the scarf is the only customizable thing, along with whatever other form of customization can occur, but head pieces should NOT change her look.
Just to keep things as consistent as possible. :]

I think that it'll be hard to judge considering there are 3 big names now handling the music production, but at the same time it kind of excites me because it's like HEY...now you get 3 different kinds of musical styles instead of just one. Plus the stretch goal for "Orchestrated tracks" was reached so...I think whatever the end result it'll be high quality. :p

I mean Michiru is on the composition team for music so I'm sure that the soundtrack will be killer. I don't really know much about Ippo but...his material sounds pretty gothic horror to me so it'll fill in really nicely. I really hope that the music for Bloodstained is elegant, because I think that the music should reflect on the protagonist and I mean c'mon, Miriam's a pretty classy girl, amiright? (just look at dat avatar :p) But yeah I'm super stoked for the soundtrack, and even more stoked that I'll be getting it when it comes out!!
Anyway, for my four favorite tracks, it's hard to pick but...I narrowed it down to these:
1. Dracula's Tears (Dawn of Sorrow)
I don't know what it is...classy...elegant, yet keeps up the vibe of the game with it's refreshing synth marimba and hollowed glass-sounding electro along with the dance oriented percussion definitely saying "Hey, I'm a 2d platformer, and as far as I'm concerned that map isn't 100%, so KEEP EXPLORING." that just makes you wanna keep trekking on. Definitely inspiring, and also definitely important for an exploration oriented series such as the IGAvanias of course are.
2. Aquarius Remix (Circle of the Moon)
Is that a synth bass guitar I hear? ;] Yeah it sure is, along with the military waltz sorta percussion going on, this track definitely has me dancing around the room more than I'd care to admit. Yeah, yeah I know that CoM's music reception isn't that great due to the heavy use of remixes but anyone who doesn't think this is a great track...well...I have but one word for those kind of people. Deaf. Ahahaha.
3. Dance of Illusions (Symphony of the Night)
Maaaaan...just play AWAY at that church organ. If this doesn't instill the feeling of good vs evil in a video game I don't know what will. And I think that is a very important piece when it comes to gaming, is a signature element to baddies, and music is no exception. Throughout the many times that you fight Dracula in the series, you can always count on this theme being playing in some form or shape. Truly as signature as Vampirekiller, in my humble opinion. :p
4. Bloodlines Bequeathed (Portrait of Ruin)
Oooh...didja hear it? OH there it was again...that sharp clavelectro mixed with a rock percussion set, along with 8-bit inspired synthesizers that I don't know the names of...YET. It's just...magical. And Richter? AHA. A pushover. Don't let him push you around ehehe. But yeah, PoR is definitely a title I don't hear very much about, usually the big attention seekers being Symphony of the Night and Order of Eclessia, which is a shame because the music and gameplay are both absolutely phenomenal. 10/10
So anyway, those are my picks, hopefully you guys like 'em!

I think that the demo was AMAZING. It looked really solid. Just a few minor pieces that I want to add: 1. Concerning the pause screen, I think that Miriam's model should either be a portrait image, (Meaning something hand-drawn) or the model should be more lifelike. Maybe...have Miriam blink or something every once in a while. 2. The enemy responsiveness to attacks when using the sword seems to be abysmal at best. It seemed like 50% of the time when I went to hit an enemy with the sword it didn't even work! Though the issue lessened some when I switched to a lower quality so this may be part of the issue. Pretty low frame rate, at the highest quality as well. (for me anyway) 3. Put Miriam's name on the pause screen somewhere. All of the previous IGA games had the protagonist's names on the pause screen SOMEWHERE. PLEASE try to to find a way to sneak it in there. (Don't know why this bothers me so much ahaha) But yeah, I am so stoked for BLOODSTAINED. It literally looks like SOTN and AOS/DOS had a love baby together... ...and I am LOVING every part of it!
