I wasn't able to give the game a proper play but I really like the how everything is coming along. With limited keyboard support and time to play I am not able to do very much since the only controller I have that works is badly damaged. I was still able to replicate a few bugs falling out of bounds, cutscenes and going to places I shouldn't be able to that freeze the game that I won't go into detail here though.
My thoughts so far on what I was able to play The game looks nice and runs smooth on my GTX 950M compared to the old E3 version I enjoyed the new mini map customizing features a lot. I liked how progression gives you alternative methods to obtaining equipment with minimal money and grinding required and how they can be purchased directly from the shop after you create them, turn around and break them down and stock up on certain ingredients that you need to make a different one rather than relying on a low drop rate allowing you to enjoy the game and grind less. I'm sure that changes later on, but at least you don't have to feel "stuck" with a basic short sword.
Aside from the backdash changes that have become slightly awkward and the keyboard support that was removed, Not that its a complaint but I felt like the Zangetsu fight was a little lackluster compared to Vepar and Bloodless since you can basically stand inside his hitbox and attack him without taking a single hit, but I and am patiently looking forward to the games completion so I can do some more speed runs!

I have to agree with CastleDan I'm not really digging the level... something just seems off to me other than the music. Not to say that the level itself isn't beautiful in a way because it is stunning. It reminds me of a twist between Tristis Pass from Ecclesia and lower layers of the Catacombs from SotN. But I didn't come here to complain/critique, I came for the

I hold more bloodlust and hatred towards myself than any other being in existence, ignoring the call to arms against my companions I deny Bloodless of the victory she seeks. *impales himself upon the Bloodless' blood crystal*

I expected as much from a foe the likes of Bloodless, I won't let your sacrifice be in vain Angel-Corlux ! Seeing as I failed to skip the whole game and popped up into the middle of this savage battle at level 1, I will continue stuffing copious amounts of my near endless supply of wall down my comrades throats and keep them alive as long as possible. After failing a series of oppai pinches and getting shocked by a karma coin, I'm going to opt out of close combat for the time being and prepare to support injured friends. In the meantime I'll attempt to back dash and unleash some OAS2DUeW1-201-61-20·1-6

*teleports through the wall* "Wait a moment, this isn't the final boss... It seems like I messed up yet again."
In my frustration, I launch of a flurry of semi-painful oppai pinches.

First I'd like to say congratulations to us on 2000 registered forum members! Normally I sit back, watch and enjoy as you all pour your very souls into these amazing posts about Bloodstained and Castlevania. It seems like most of our speedrunners follow this trend but I wanted to say that the majority that I keep in contact with are looking forward to the release of this amazing game. Myself I plan on streaming, playing and enjoying the game for thousands of hours to come just like I have with previous Igavania titles. I wanted to take a few minutes to share my love for the game since the opportunity presented itself. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do, and I look forward to playing multiplayer with some of you in the future. Castlevania on Nintendo was the first game I have memories of playing as a child, and it brings back the feels for sure, strong enough to bring the series back to my life in times of hardship countless times but Symphony of the Night and Harmony of Despair are the two games that I put thousands of hours of play into, more than any other games I have ever played. I was never good with keeping up with the latest consoles and was okay with that as a child, I was still playing my older consoles even when Sony came out with the Playstation. When Symphony of the Night came out I was envious of my father, who hadn't picked up a controller in years. I remember working countless nights to buy my own Playstation and copy of Symphony so I could enjoy the game myself, and when I wasn't in school, or working I spent countless hours with him enjoying Symphony as if I were a young child all over again. Reminiscing on my memories still brings the chills and excitement of taking in the amazing music from Yamane and art from Kojima for the first time, every detail about the game, being able to use tons of unique weapons and fighting enemies encountered from Rondo of Blood. Being a Castlevania fan from the very first game, seeing Alucard and Maria grow and change, and how it connected the series together and of course searching for wall meat and finding little tricks and things, I found myself putting hundreds of hours into this amazing game as a young adult until I decided to join the military. When I got settled in, I remember calling my father up, asking him to dust off and carefully pack up SotN and my Playstation with some of my other belongings so I could continue to enjoy them again. He laughed and jokingly asked me to take it easy on Dracula this time around. I still find time to this day to play on PS3 and Xb0x360, and when you can finish the game in under 20 minutes if you felt like, there is always time to play! I'm certainly looking forward to the challenge modes and multiplayer in Bloodstained since I enjoy playing multiplayer with others in Harmony of Despair. Under the supervision of Igarashi I have no doubt Bloodstained will blossom into something amazing, it already has consumed countless hours of dissecting and breaking it for the speedrun challenge and I also look forward to getting comfy and streaming for many more hours to come.

I am definitely a fan of the artwork from Mana . I feel that her style captures the very essence of and should be the golden standard for Iga's games. Forget about the assets provided by Inti, I want to see Mana's amazing art on the box! Also Fangamer Steve, wall scrolls and posters featuring Mana's art, please please please? Take my money!

I'm totally digging the Aello, can't wait to see what its shard power will be. What I am really looking forward to seeing is what Michiru-san can come up with next, her music never ceases to amaze me.

A couple times I managed to jump into Vepar and get killed by its swinging bewbs a frame after killing it, it reset before the "Thank You For Playing" screen came up. I could probably replicate it again if you wanted a video for whatever reason.

Thanks for sharing that XombieMike. I actually uploaded that before the music was technically available and had it set to private because I wasn't sure if I was allowed to do that! I didn't want to accidentally "leak" what was leaked by many others on Reddit and stuff and get in trouble for it. I'm hyped to actually see what they use Cursed Orphan for.

Is there an end date for the contest, or can somebody find out when the contest is supposed to end? I wonder if anyone is still running? I've seen players with sub 2:30 times, but wasn't the contest suppose to end, I was under the assumption that it was a short term thing? I haven't seen any updates about it. I'm playing for fun at this point, but has anyone else tried utilizing the weapon swap glitch with the boots to get extra damage out of Vepar? It saves a couple swings (and seconds) if timed right.

I'm not quite sure how many more releases we will get, I'd only assume one (beta) and the final release, but no clue how the staggered content thing will play out for install files either, it seems like we just need an auto updater... Not quite sure how that works with UE4, I'm no game developer so I have no clue how you guys do any of this stuff. I just like to help troubleshoot and find answers So my kids birthday was yesterday and I have no extra money for Avgas, I think I'll be spending some time playing games this weekend, or improving my speed run time for Bloodstained. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the hair style mod fatihG wants to work on too, perhaps we might get another weapon skin to go with the sassy new hair?

I don't think anyone here has time to port the entire SotN game to a demo version that we won't be playing in the future anyway, it would be fun but I don't think its going to happen. We just have to wait for the team to finish up the game at this point.
The mods and info we have so far is pretty much limited to the ship since that is the only stage available. Also we aren't suppose to leak any extra content hidden in the game so I'm not quite sure what you expect from us when the demo lasts less than three minutes. Hex isn't really worth doing at this point either. Nothing else is actually accessible except for a small grid below the ship, if you try to hex your pos it crashes the game, so no teleporting. The most you can get without crashing at this point is stats/level, a few other useless things and jumping through/over walls which make the game crash.

Alright, finally done a rough mockup to show some of what I was proposing with my feedback on page 4 ( bloodstainedfanforums.com/post/30626/thread). --------------------------------------------------------------------------- input buffering/anim cancel mockup, haxeflixel engine, html5It should run on html-5 compatible browsers like chrome and firefox, keyboard input for the controls. The amount of input buffering is set to match the E3 demo's by default, but you can toggle it with the [Q] key. For the animation canceling when Miriam lands from a jump, you can toggle the behavior with th [E] key. Player controls are the usual ones, wasd/arrows and [z][x][c]. Just a disclaimer, this isn't for a proper game. It's just to demonstrate how the input behavior changes how responsive the game feels. My mockup's in a 2d engine, but the timings and behaviors are applied the same way for 3d engines. Wow, this is a really impressive way to make a point! Kudos to you for putting in the work and actually making a decent looking, fully animated pixel art mockup! However, I can't make out the difference between the Q-modes at all. What am I missing here? What am I supposed to notice? The controls in all Q-modes feel exactly the same to me. I was curious myself since I love some game mechanics. I tried to test like a speed runner would, you may be able to see the difference in the short clip I made if you cant feel it yourself. I couldn't bdc as well but movement while jump attacking seems much smoother Also.... I'm sorry I broke it. I really liked the demonstration of the differences even though I felt like the back step didn't feel the same.

I wasn't meaning to make anything of it, but I thought it was a good way to keep the topic alive and something to discuss for fun Not sure if having a lower screen percentage would make it easier, I feel like its harder like that since the screen is smaller, I normally record at 50 so it will run at a faster fps for cleaner runs, I did it just as easy on 100% though, not sure if it really makes a difference. I did study when to jump and practiced a couple of times for that video, I think thats the only difference though.

I totally disregarded the fact camera does not affect physics ever in any game ever as I had no coffee that day, fatihG is right, its not the camera. The whole level is moving, I don't think there could be any other possibility, as it does occasionally mess with jumps and movement by up to two pixels from what I can tell. if you do the wall glitch you can see Miriam fall through the floor as the ship rocks fore and aft. If you go outside of the map there is grid under the ship you can land on which doesn't move, It looks like and feels like Miriam controls differently down there. Also semi related, my game has been shading objects oddly since I started doing the wall glitch, I'm not quite sure why as I haven't changed any settings, but seen someone else who had the same thing happen while doing the trick. ( I think it was Viftech ) I seen the video of "broken" Miriam on the scarf physics, fatihg you wrote the script for smooth scarf so you know more than me, I'm not sure how any of that works honestly. It seems like the scarf seems to be affected by Miriam's XY acceleration rather than the level to me.

Its not any% without a zip glitch. Have fun with this guys. Sorry I'm a bit rusty but my point was to share the glitch.
Its saves a few seconds. You also skip the possibility of falling to the bottom of the pit of shame in the Amy room.
Just land on the ledge, press down and hold left after the fade, tap jump if the screen flickers, and you should fall between the Mortes, its a pretty consistent trick when you get the timing, kind of like the out of bounds zips in Harmony of Despair.
and here is a sample run just to show you its pretty easy!
