Will you have enough macaroni for everyone? Depends on if that's what they want. XD Could grab some at the Macaroni Grill. Sorry, law school has been catching up to me! However, if the BS team will be in LA for E3 or AX, I was thinking of getting them some cakes and pastries again from Porto's. Or, depending on budget, we might be able to get them Hawaiian BBQ from Ono. Whatdya guys think?

Hey everyone, it's Gerard/keiya again. I was wondering, if the staff's going to E3 or AX this year, if we can put together lunch or dinner for the staff, paid for by fans/backers! Last year, I tried it when I got a cake and some pastries for Iga-sama and the staff, and I would like to do the same this year. But we can go bigger by getting them something better/nicer. If we have enough funds, I bet we can even bring an In n Out Truck out to serve everyone. So, what does everyone think? I know we don't have confirmation of whether the Bloodstained staff will be at E3/AX, but if they are, would you guys be willing to help me plan/fund this out? Of course, that goes without saying that you should be there too, if you're in the area.

Another thing I'd like to point out is the sheer scale of the profits of other projects. MGSV may have had almost a hundred million dollar budget, but made money for Konami hand over fist by selling more than six million copies, and earning back (conservatively estimated) double the amount that was spent on it. The first Lords of Shadow also probably sold way more than it cost to produce it. The return on Konami's investment is always in the tens of millions. And let's not get started with Winning Eleven and PES.
Compare that to the Igavania games, and the fact that even if they make money, it's most likely a fraction of what those games earn. It was an industry insider who told me that companies like Konami are headed by accountants, and thus they only see games and game franchises as sheer numbers. If you only think in numbers, it makes perfect sense why Igavania games got the axe. And that's not even getting into mobile games. Why spend a million on a series that only breaks even, when you can invest it in mobile and rack in a hundred million in microtransactions?

Meeting Mr. Igarashi was one of the highlights of AX2016 for me. I also love how Bloodstained's director/producer (whose name escapes me atm... it's the one who's not Igarashi-sama), was sitting at the Inti booth and remembered me as "the guy who talked to them at Smashburger during E3". Mr. Aizu also remembered me (which was awesome!), and I got to meet both Igarashi-sama and Inafune-sama together. I'm glad to also have met Mana in-person (she is very, very gorgeous! She reminds me a lot of a short-haired Shanoa).
As I said, I'm fine with no signature because I'll be getting a signed copy off the KS next year, but I just really wanted to show everyone working on Bloodstained that there are some very passionate fans like us who love his games, and would like him to succeed. I hope you guys loved Anime Expo, and I hope to see you guys soon!

Yup, that's me! So glad to have met Igarashi-sama! I hope he enjoyed the cakes and pastries! You gotta pay pal? Oh, and how much did that set you back? Oh, no, don't worry about it! I got all this because I wanted to both welcome the Bloodstained staff to Los Angeles (I wasn't able to do so last E3), and I wanted to show Igarashi-Sama how much I appreciate all the hard work he's done in making the games we love. Maybe for next time, you can pitch in and we can get everyone something different. Like maybe Suzycakes, whose specialty is petite cupcakes Or maybe we can treat them to an awesome dinner at Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles?

WOW so this is what the Twitter post on the Porto's was about! I'm so sorry we couldn't contact you in time. This is really nice and thank you so much for the offer! This E3, we were literally running back and forth through different meetings/interviews so it would have been very difficult to plan out. Since we're going to Anime Expo in a few weeks, I would love help you out. Awesome! Let's go get cake at Anime Expo! I can communicate here on the forums (on this thread or via PM), or I can also give you my email if you would like to talk more privately. I will be at Anime Expo for all four days (since I am vacation the whole time), so it is also more convenient for me. For pastries, I definitely recommend picking up the cheese rolls, as they are a great snack (although be careful, you may finish 3-4 of them fairly quickly!). For the cakes, it largely depends on everyone's preference, but so far, the Opera, Checkers and Tiramisu cakes are all very, very good. Each cake also comes with a sheet of white chocolate that you can ask the Portos staff to write items on! Here's a video showing off the Bakery:

Whoa, that looks nice O____O Good job on the handiwork! As for the logistics, let me clarify what I was planning: - I was going to buy them some pastries and/or cake out of pocket. 2 dozen cheese rolls are $17 iirc. - I put up the thread if people wanted to pitch in, so I can buy them even more stuff (more cake!). - If people pitched in, I was going to pay for the items out of pocket first, and then ask for reimbursement later, but only part of it (i.e. If the Porto's cost $50, I'd only ask for $30, since I was already planning to spend $20 on pastries) - I'll deliver everything at the LACC at any time is convenient for the staff (well... Maybe after 9:00pm, since Porto's opens at 8:00am... You get the idea XD). I'll try my best to make it as convenient as possible for the Bloodstained admin. Worst case scenario, I'll prolly see if I can bring it at their Anime Expo booth.

I understand. I met Mr. Aizu yesterday, and he said the ArtPlay and Inticreates crew will be at Anime Expo (same place, just a few weeks later). Perhaps we can plan for it then? Is it best to contact Mana about this?

Hey everyone. I work in Downtown LA as a law clerk, and E3's happening down the street. I was thinking of, like the Donuts campaign a while ago, I could bring the ArtPlay and Inticreates staff some pastries from Porto's Bakery, and I'd like to know how. www.portosbakery.comPorto's Bakery is a very popular Cuban bakery here in the LA/OC area, and they also serve really good coffee. I was thinking of buying them some boxes of cheese rolls (the most popular item in the Porto's menu). If anyone wants to pitch in, I can buy even more items, including some of their signatures cakes! (Seriously, check out their tiramisu - it has a pile of chocolate shavings shaped into a cluster). Since I'm coming from Anaheim, I was thinking of dropping by Porto's in Downey to pick up the goods, and then bring them to E3. I don't have an E3 pass, but I'll likely only have time to drop off the stuff anyway, because of work ^^;;;; Twitter handle's over here: mobile.twitter.com/AurelioAngelesThanks a lot, guys!
