By the way, guys. Let's call this "paid DLC" they're proposing by its real name: microtransactions. It has all the patterns of microtransactions and is certainly not big enough to be called an expansion. Personally I don't want that pest in this franchise.
It's a trend that has gone way too far in the game industry and if this makes it through into Bloodstained, the floodgates for worse things may have been opened. Besides the terrible timing of releasing a poll like this while the base game for switch players is not even in a presentable state, it just rings my alarm bells to have talk of microtransactions in this series which I hoped to be the continuation of all the fantastic things IGA & co have created in the past.
I don't want Bloodstained to be stained by microtransaction BS.
Just my two cents on this matter.

gunlord500 Dude, have you seen the owner numbers on steam alone? This game sold incredibly well. They don't NEED paid cosmetic DLC. 505 wants it. It's a game publisher, that's all. Of course they're not going to say no to some extra profits, no matter if they already have more than enough to make a sequel.

EBBenjy Can you articulate why don't you want the game to have any paid, cosmetic DLC? To be clear, this is stuff made after the game is launched, not content held from he main game. If at that point they could also invest that time and energy in making a sequel, they should rather do that in my opinion.

This board is not nearly big enough to justify so many sub forums and categories. We should have two sections: everything Bloodstained related, and off-topic. That’s it. There’s literally no reason why this thread couldn’t have gone in the General bloodstained discussion forum and because it’s on a folder no one ever thinks about checking out (honestly didn’t know there was a Music folder here until this thread was shouted in the Shoutbox). /rant Maybe I should shout LOUDER

I was under the impression that Jake "Virt" Kaufman was going to be composing some tracks for that mode, though. Yep, this also has me a bit confused. Don't get me wrong I think that the 8-Bit tracks we got sound great but it's weird that he apparently didn't actually end up making any of them and that they never communicated anything like that publicly.

It's surely going to be interesting to see what happens when you enter story-bossfights with Zangetsu. Especially the two Zangetsu fights. Like, Zangetsu already has the Zangetsuto, right? So does he even NEED to go to the oriental sorcery lab to be able to slice the moon? I'm curious to see how they deal with potential sequence breaks like that.

Aztec Haha and here we were talking about how difficult it would be to single out just one track as the best one! It's a good choice though, I must say I love the metaphor of starting it with a melody reminiscent of the Castlevania Game Over tune. It may be game over for Castlevania but as that ends, Ritual of the Night begins!

anonthemouse Yeah, choosing just a single one as my fav would be impossible haha. That's why you can choose up to 40 in the poll ^^ I also love King of Kings. With those choirs it's just so damn epic. Just sounds huge! One of my personal favs and again, it's one by Keisuke Ito. I quite like cursed orphan too but slightly prefer the original version that was there when the Kickstarter launched since it sounds less noisy and messy. Either way, I would've preferred that as a boss theme rather than an area theme due to its crazy high intensity and fast tempo.

I personally absolutely love the soundtrack. All composers did a great job and it sounds amazing. I'm curious how the community feels about it and what everyone's favourite tracks are. Let's discuss!
Some of my personal highlights include how they used a fight-version of character themes for their boss fights, the use of 5/4 time in some of Michiru Yamane San's tracks and how fitting the choices of sounds and instruments are for most of the areas the tracks play in. I was also really surprised by many of my favourites being composed by Keisuke Ito. The man clearly understands Castlevania music very well as it shows in his work on Bloodstained.
Cheers to everyone involved with the music in this game. I applaud you all!

saberwolf94 It has been released. IGA appears if you re-enter the throne room. Which version of the game do you have? With steam it's DLC you have to download additionally. I don't know about the console versions.

This is possible with the shortcuts. Which you don't have from the start of the game. (And hiding useful UX things behind in-game collectables is obnoxious) I actually agree with that. As a designer, I wouldn't do that myself. Just wanted to point out that there is a way to use quick items in the game.

Agree with all of what you said. Also add gold to the list of overused AND too rare items. The crafting requirements are insane so I never did that (since dark matter is also kind of rare and hard to make). Fiend heart is too rare as well. That blue final metal in the ice cave feels a bit rare for how much it's used too.

About the biggest castle thing, keep in mind that you're dealing with HD screens here so you're getting more castle per map square. Also, in PoR there was significantly more copy/paste than in Bloodstained when it comes to the maps so I'm not sure I'd fully count that. Bigger =/= Better... About the difficulty, yeah I haven't played hard mode yet but making it easier was a concious decision and there are still people who struggle to even play through the game on normal difficulty so I don't know... Maybe hard mode should be harder? I'll have to play to find out. I agree that a boss rush mode should contain all bosses. But the retro coins seem like a decent reward to me. I found them really hard to acquire in the main game since they drop almost nowhere and are pretty expensive. I don't mind the reskins that much. I'm gonna guess that Tamako-Death was a backer enemy (just a guess). Most reskinned enemies also have different behavior, changed models, different attack patterns and types so it's mostly fine by me. It's always been a thing and I actually like seeing some of those enemies evolve. It's not really less expensive to make a completely unique enemy with new animations and models etc. in 3D than it is in 2D as far as I know. Kind of depends on the people doing the work. On the quests, I fully agree, they're kind of poor, creatively and back in the day, I've made a thread about it (when we played the beta) and how to improve them. Sad that the system was never improved and is just kind of a boring thing to do on the side now. Just an added reason to grind stuff. No cool stories, no creative and new things to do and discover, no unique quests... Oh well, hope they're better in the sequel. Why does the 8-bit area not count? Other than that I agree, would be great to have some super difficult special area in there somewhere. If your bitching comes from a place of love, your choice of words doesn't make it seem so. There are more friendly ways to express your thoughts (although I agree with quite a few of them). No offense

Announcing a new Castlevania now could be pretty bad timing for Bloodstained to be honest. Could confuse people on what to get and take sales away from Bloodstained. I'm generally kind of disappointed that Bloodstained was shown or advertised nowhere at E3 this year. Seems like a missed opportunity and the launch could kind of go under in the wake of all the E3 hype. So I think they should have made that connection.
