I played normal until I was at 100% with everything there is to get/discover. Then I played a quick breeze through hard ng+ but that was only really to get into nightmare ng which I'm currently at (in the Hidden Desert right now). Nightmare ng is pretty damn tough and I almost didn't make it past the ship ^^

Because I do have some ideas, mostly adding shards I felt were missing, such as Resist Physical(Increase resistance against slash, blunt, and thrust damage), and Resist Ailment(Increase resistance against poison, stone, and curse). Dunno what version you're playing but in mine, those resist shards exist. For instance, Kunekune drops the resist curse shard. I believe that malediction drops resist petrification and poison toad drops resist poison. The physical ones exist as well as far as I'm aware.

Zeal Input recordings can also be messed with. It's not an actual video, just a recording of the inputs, being triggered at specific times.

Actually, there is a way to change the statue without any further tools: Lure one of the toads into it and watch it snap shut. This probably happened the first time around and you just didn't notice it. Have fun!

The den was supposed to be giant from the getgo. However, Valefor would have fit in much better since it was supposed to be a giant casino area. This becomes apparent when looking at the art book. It should not have been a reskin like it is right now.
Higher difficulties also change enemy placement.
Totally agree on the blue shard thing. I often end up forgetting to use them because it's just so much of a hassle to press the button at the right time. For some of them, this isn't useful though. Craftwork needs to be triggered to do its thing. And some abilities like the werewolf shard just take too much MP to have them active for extended periods of time. I'd like to have a setting for each individual blue shard so I can decide what to make a toggle.

Your description seems more like a blue shard to me but I like the idea. I think in that case it should be blue, especially since in the early game you have no blue shards at all. I use plenty of red shards from beginning to end. There are many really good ones. We have very few blue ones though.
Alternatively since the morte form usually takes over other stuff (morte cannon, bone morte, bomb morte), maybe a shard could also let you take over enemies or even certain objects like chairs with a black goo you throw at them. They then attack enemies for you. Only works on enemies who aren't resistant. Doesn't last forever.

mourningxsun It's not broken if people are having fun with it. And do you REALLY believe things like craftwork or flying edge are outright broken? That seems really odd to me to be honest.

rav4ishing I'm playing on a laptop on highest settings and the only time I had any slowdown was during the valefor fight with those poker chips breaking.

If PVP will be a thing, they'd have to nerf other stuff anyway. The auto aim gun + recycle head + diamond bullets would be everyone's build for PVP weapons while everyone would just spam hellhound at each other. PVP matches COULD be interesting if there was some sort of loadout building in a shop with limited gold and differently priced items and shards before each round. Especially if you can see your opponents shop choices in real time so you can react by picking counters. That way they could just make stronger weapons & shards more expensive for PVP instead of nerfing them for everyone (even single player only players).

mourningxsun then nerf the online mode separately. Or better yet, buff unviable strats instead of nerfing things people like.

gradius Thank you. I find many of those choices to be rather irritating as well. Especially regarding familiars - the dullahammer head was clearly the strongest one but that wasn't because the dullahammer head was too strong but because the others attacked too rarely and too slowly. Buff those instead! I also liked that the dullahammer heads had only 1 HP because otherwise they can get really annoying. If you need to get more than one hit in to kill one of them, it'll be really hard to even get one of them down since they're pretty fast and small. Weird choice. Don't really get why they'd nerf the flying edge. It's not that strong anyway and nerfing it more will make it basically unviable. Changing it so that the dullahammer heads' grade matters less is also sad to see. It was the one thing I had to get past Vepar in NG Nightmare mode. Without this, it would probably have been impossible for me. Nerfing Craftwork makes no sense at all. It's never even been a strong offensive ability anyway. If anything, they should BUFF it to make it useful as a weapon.

Resetting chests just requires you to go through a transition room, I've darned quite a few soy and black pepper this way, also works for orichalcum For me the problem with black pepper was more that I needed it for a large amount of recipes and that I simply didn't remember where to obtain it since I hadn't been in that part of the map for a while and there's no reason other than black pepper and farming fairy wings to ever come back.
At least they should tell you where you can find a material once you found it for the first time. Kind of like the bestiary telling you where you'll encounter which enemy but in the item archives.
Other than that I specialized in a luck build for my first run to have less grind and I STILL had to grind for pepper a lot. Always going in and out of that same area for so many darn times. Could be more fun if you ask me.

Thank you for highlighting your complete lack of understanding of how game production works No offense but you're basically asking for them to remake almost the entire game from scratch.

purifyweirdshard Brent, I wholeheartedly hope that you're right and I won't argue against what you said. That's not what I'm here for. I have said what I needed to say and will leave it at that. I'm still not happy about the choice and about how and when they communicated it but I can appreciate your viewpoint of hoping for more RotN content than originally promised even if I personally would have preferred it if they wrapped it up after completing the stretch goals so they could start making that sequel ^^

Microtransactions are just small digital transactions for mostly small in game goods. That's pretty much the definition. Look it up. This is different than a proper DLC-expansion. If it remains at this one outfit or whatever, that's fine, really. I just won't buy it and move on with my life. What I'm fearing is that once this is introduced they'll try and see just how far they can push it before the backlash becomes too much. I've seen this pattern repeat itself way too often not to get worried about these news. I don't have anything agains proper expansions that offer a good bit of additional gameplay content etc. Those are fine and something I'd pay for if the price is reasonable (Though I'm not sure if I want to pay even more money on this game, already having paid more for it than for any other game ever). So no, DLC in general is not what I have a problem with. If it all turns out to be fine, I'd be the first person to be happy about it but consider this a warning. I hope I'm wrong and it won't become a problem. From a PR standpoint it doesn't really matter that different people work on the switch improvements than those who would make this. It's the message sent out to the public that matters. This message could have been: "To all you having to put up with the switch-version: our artists have less work than our programmers and tech-artists right now so they'll make some free cosmetics for you as a way to balance out the bad port." Instead it's: "Hey, we know the port kinda sucks but IF you were to give us even MORE money, what would it be for? ". So I stand by what I said. Poor timing for this. Oh and about the free DLC argument. Please remember that we were going to get them anyway. They're stretch goals that were all met. If they need microtransactions to make those happen, they should not have promised them in the first place.
