Well having a cape is definitely possible. Not sure if it is possible to get that cape in the artstyle of Bloodstained though.
The cape currently is just a flat plane. The Bloodstained style requires the model to be thick, and a separate model that wraps around it to create the outline.
The sudden movements mess up the cape as well, when quickly turning left/right. This might be because I couldnt be bothered setting up a collisions properly, the head is missing a collision shape. So with more tweaking it might work better. =] I might do some more tests at some time.

Yeah, all I am saying is that Miriam doesnt look like she has been set up to have stuff like capes. Whatever they are doing with the other characters, we have no idea.

Does anyone else think that the scarfs in the game since they change appearance it might mean we will get other items like capes as well? Or do you think scarfs will be the only aspect that changes in that sense? I wouldn't get my hopes up for capes for Miriam. The way it was set up in the demo; Bone based approach. each piece has its own Bone chain. The bones of the Scarf are actually part of the main Miriam skeleton. It could be possible though. They could use the Apex cloth system in UE4, which tbh will give the best results. Another way is to have the scarf/cape itself have a custom skeleton that ties into the main skeleton. Similar to what I did a while ago with the hair test I made to get some physics working on the hair. That way they can give the cape a more complex skeleton/bone setup. I haven't actually tried to use any of UE4s apex cloth before... Maybe it'd be a nice little test for the Vampiric Miriam mod. edit- The item for the scarf is actually called 'Muff' as opposed to the item on the heads which are more generally called 'head', 'eye', etc. I haven't seen any of the 'customization' promo images show anything related to the scarfs either. So they probably are treated like the body, simple colour/texture changes. So if I had to take a guess based on that I would say the scarfs equipment will just be scarfs. Perhaps different designs could be possible. Like shorter scarfs and what not. I am on mobile right now so not going to bother with typos. will edit this when I get back home. Save

Yeah I imagine they will update at some point.
From my own experience though, you usually stick to the version you start the project with. But with the Switch support being added they might very well go with 4.15. Since UE4 is open source, they could potentially stick with 4.11 and add the switch support portion to their source code.
Similar to what they were planning on previously, with adding Wii U support their selves.
But we'll have to wait and see. =]

Yeah for sure, might give it a go at some point again.
Always wanted to work on a proper platformer/action game so I could probably reuse some things.
If I decide to work on an original project with this as the base Ill probably do things a bit different though. Make the mechanics feel more modern and what not.
But we'll see how things go. =]

Heya guys, I figured at least some of you might appreciate this little project I started about a year or so ago. Horrible timing as shortly after I started working on this project the demo of Bloodstained was released and I spent most of my time going through the demo. Anyway a quick little video: Back when I started working on this, my aim was to teach myself some scripting in UE4 and use it as some kind of portfolio piece, having made multiple character models, enemies, environments props etc. However like I said the demo came out and most of my time was spent on that instead. Didn't really have much time afterwards to get back to work on this little project, but at least i learned a thing or two while working on it. I would go back to work on it again, however again time is limited. Currently working on a racing game prototype called Galactic Racers, together with a programmer buddy of mine. I stream some game art creation on twitch as well for anyone that is interested in it!

Ive got a feeling Alfred is going to be a character similar to Barlowe. Basically it will seem it is a good guy but will reveal itself to manipulate Miriam.
Therefor I believe it will not be a playable character.
Icant remember an 'evil' character to ever be playable in an Igavania. PoR had the sisters but they were basically brainwashed iirc.
Also I havent read any of the backstory of any character except of Miriam a bit... so this can be waaay off.

Will the cartridge sticker for the NS cartridge be the same for all regions? That is an oddly specific question, one I've never seen anyone do before. May I ask why does that concern you? Or anyone else for that matter! I mean I get box art but a sticker on a tiny cartridge thats barely big enough to fit the game's title... how much of a variation can it be between regions? For what its worth the EU version of my DoS copy has some German text on it saying "Freigegeben ab 12 jahre". And im located in The Netherlands. My copy of PoR and OoE I had imported (US) just to get it a few days earlier and there is no such text on them. So if something similar where to happen it is probably a Nintendo thing.

In my case it was welcome news. It meant I could stop setting the money aside for the announcement and go ahead and add a second copy of the game to my pledge. PC for the mods; Switch for the portability. Pretty much this. Ill add the Switch version eventually, where I'll actually play the game. PC to test mods with. =] Save

I just noticed there is a cap for exp that you can gain.
I just summoned Olivia and was wanting to lvl her up asap due to her dance ability. It gives other units another move in the same turn.
Beat a lvl 8 enemy unit with her at level 1 and only gained 100 exp.
It looks like you can only gain the amount of exp that you need to get to the next level.
Anyway I summoned Corrin and Olivia, pretty happy with those. Is it just me or are Green units rarer than the other colours? Got a ton of blue ones, decent amount of reds and blacks only got like 2 greens. RNG gods... show me some love plis.
Also I think i finally figured out what the friends are for. You can greet others, daily I believe, to get some feathers.
Getting the feathers are required for ranking up your units.

I just summoned Jakob, Cain and Florina at 4 stars. Lit. no idea who they are.
Jakob looks like a cool character, Florina decimates anything she touches...
Also got Lon'qu and Bartre, Lon'qu is the only character I actually know.

@goobsausage , don't know what you mean when you say it updates every 5 minutes. If you are talking about the blue loading thing when you go to 'home' I think that just syncs your game, to check if you haven't unlocked anything new. Scuttlest , yeah i have been doing the same. Spent my first 15 orbs summoning, the other ones I got i spent on my castle. Already at 100%. I'm just focusing on leveling the characters I have now, not going to bother with summons for a bit. Also just unlocked Sophia through an event battle.

It should not matter if it is encrypted or not, people will find a way to mod the game anyway. Just take a look at Street Fighter V, that game is encrypted afaik. And there are plenty of mods for it. In fact Capcom is doing all kinds of stuff to counter modding with there updates, but people find ways around it, usually, in a few days. This will probably depend on how popular this game will be with modders though. If no one is interested I assume it will take a very long time for it to get cracked open. exalt9 I still have an idea for a reskin, actually I have a bunch of ideas for a whole bunch of things, but sadly my time is limited. I posted not too long ago about my desire to get back and mod BS. In fact I managed to find some files I thought I lost, so if I get back to it that will speed things up considerably.
