yeah, I know what you mean about that Dominique part she does nothing to deserve praise in that cutscene... unless they are talking about past deeds or something... or there is a scene missing that will be in the final game... let's hope its something like that. and about the kid, I was thinking her acting might get better as the game progresses... I understand the accent, these are lower "present" uneducated people and yes that is how they sound but it is grating to the ears... I just hope she sounds better later in the game Sounds like dominique should demonstrate some skill as an excorcist, even a non combat action can be helpful, like a ward to stop the monsters from getting in the place she and johannes are staying.

Man, with fans from a spectrum of Symphony to Ecclessia, it's really going to be hard finding a difficulty that suits everyone. Difficulty options are pretty much mandatory at this point. We need a harder difficulty that's available from the start for those who want a harder game like OoE, and a standard easier difficulty for those like me who want to relax and play it like SotN Well keep in mind that as the first boss of the first section, Vepar is the one most likely to be outleveled simply from...having low stats.

I think it might be cool if this was handled in a way similar to the Librarian in Symphony of the Night, where each shopping spree still begins and ends with a voice clip, but without any dialogue windows to interrupt your shopping needs. Heck, some subtitles at the bottom of the screen wouldn't even be that bad as long as they don't pause the action. This, a thousand times this.

This occured after getting the shard for the bat enemy.
The red, bat like, squiggly here was in motion, wiggling around until it eventually made its way off screen in an otherwise still image.

I'm not even talking about the walking and attacking and such, just the basic idle and talking animations look pretty dumb. Miriam's talking animation in particular is especially bad: it looks like she's unhinging her jaw and sticking her tongue out half the time, though hers isn't the only one that's goofy. The idle animations also look really over-exaggerated and silly, which is especially noticeable during conversations. Johannes's is probably the worst offender in this regard. Also, not sure if anyone's noticed this, but half of the book Gebel is holding clips into his body during his normal standing pose, which is impossible not to notice once you've seen it. I would either adjust the position of his hand or have him close the book to address this. Some struck me as odd when I was seeing Miriam in this game compared to the earlier screenshots. She and Johnnes mouths and faces seemed older. I thought it was just a thing until I saw Anne and Dominique. Am I the only one in thinking that there is something wrong with Anne's face?

Excellent boss fight. The right amount to make a good early boss, but not so easy that it resembles a pushover. I like that the damage on Vepar was retained, yet the attacks follow a pattern that the player can observe.

This is just my opinion but, Miriam and Johannes sound and look older than I thought they'd be in english. I wonder if it is the same in Japanese? Maybe its a consequence of not really knowing her character and preconceived notions vs. 18th century characters "growing up" at an earlier age, but eh. I also wonder if perhaps the faces in the conversation might be served with a few gestures that go with the conversation. You can hear those mouth lips flapping bigly...there's no forgiving it, but I wonder why that is.
I think the battle cries can be mitigated, by having variations based on the attack, as well as having occasional swings elicit no grunt from her at all. Seama bubbles do not deserve the heroic "HAA!" that they sometimes get, that's for Hammer and Greatsword like attacks.

It is clear from the key config only accepting certain inputs that this game isn't yet accepting of the greatness that is the keyboard...but I am having the damnedest time getting a controller to work. Tried a PS4 controller, and even a cheap knockoff controller, but neither seem to be recognized by the game.

The "Enter" Key does not activate the choices, the "Space Bar" does. While functional, this may cause confusion.

The Configuration Screen is set to Controller iconography, despite having no controller connected. Editing the Controller keys to keyboard presses is not possible it seems, as the key config only accepts controller inputs.

The "Up" arrow key does not cause the cursor to cycle up in the choices, the "Down" Arrow key, works normally. This may cause confusion when the player tries to move up after say, adjusting the configuration.

The message says "Press Any Key", But there are keys, such as the arrow keys, that do not activate this prompt.

I do wonder where they will be placed and if they'll serve different function (perhaps one is a switch or another used as an enemy?)

Would the shard curse come from gremory? That swarm in his stage looks a lot like shards.

I don't believe Zangetsu, sans skillset, can get enough air to jump from the middle of the room.....I shall test that out, tonight and see. Still, simply a matter of Apart from atacking the painting with anything during its charge, Zangetsu can also go to the opposite corner, where the door is, and duck. I remember doing that and found just enough space around that area. At any rate, I don't find it unfair, its literally the one enemy that does this, it is a trick that is telegraphed and easily thwarted, and you are not pressed for lives in the game. I wouldn't want a thousand paintings just as lethal, but these are just fine.
