I'm sure johannes or zangetsu will be in. If nothing else, they have different opposition for Gebel. Though I see the potential for more plot coming from Johannes. he will be the harder person to put in, since it will need to be a story. Zangetsu...not really sure what his deal is.

I don't see Anne being playable now, but maybe she serves an alternate purpose to the plot. Maybe she starts seeing a new purpose for preserving alchemy, since the events of the plot kicked off from that goal.

I'm not sure. I would say that I'm glad I was able to be a backer for this game and help put my own weapon in the game or perhaps the series. That alone gives me an feeling of personal investment I'll never replace. if this offer was back in the day, that would have been one of those wierdly expensive and laden with rules sweepstakes I wouldn't have won.
One the other hand, would that make the game look bad?
I guess I would say I would like for them to use kickstarter, but only because I would love the extras and a chance to design things that badly.

It is my hope that the game's story gets out from under Ecclesia's shadow. It might be easier to do than it looks, Since it sounds like Gebel's castle is a means to an end, not the end itself.

While i agree, she wouldn't be the best choice for playable now, if anyone would be interested in alchemy, it would be someome already dabbling in potions and magical items and trinkets.

Small though, how about make us love the old man in this one, and give him foundation and story to evolve into the actual threat if the Bloodstained saga will continue, just leaving it open. So for that, having him as an NPC, where he study all what is happening, and will harvest that power or hidden powers later on. It could be fun if they have him in one of those endings we might get after finish bad, okey or good I like this actually, it will certainly give the series a way to find its own paces after the castle tumbles. it will also be a way for the alchemy powers made to make the castle, and associated villains, to survive.

Alfred is...interesting. He does have the look of a villain. It may be possible that je serves Death's role, in that while Miriam is trying to stop Gebel, Alfred is going to assist him for the sake of furthering research to even greater heights.(Alfred...like the butler...)
That said, I do not see him as recurring like Death, barring a transformation using the crystal curse. Until then, I think that will belong to the fruits of his work.
Do I want him to transform and lose his humanity? I'm not sure. He's in the right spot and mindset should sequel ideas be discussed. Maybe in addition to his knowledge and villainy he also had the method of stopping the curse, contained in the book. Retrieving said secret before dispatching Alfred might be a way to branch the endings.

I agree with Galamoth, Dominique looks wonderful, though I think her role in the story lies elsewhere. The fact that there is a shop assistant though, does give an out. iirc this sounds like a story less about religious vs demonic, so much as the traditional versus the new, with the recent achievements of alchemy the wild card(it is rejected by science, yet it is capable of causing supernatural feats.) The results of tradition would be filled by Zangetsu, the science, Johannes, and the alchemy, Miriam.

I noticed that while the game is in development there are a lot of shots that are from different distances, whereas the gameplay is from one angle that changes accordingly during cutscenes to see the action uo close. Will the player be able to change this distance and remove the HUD for screenshots? or Perhaps a theatre mode for seeing the game models in a less restricted setting?

I started sending my submission drawings during the night.(I changed my weapon last minute) I made a fanart with the weapon I had designed, though im not sure if sharing drawings I submitted is allowed yet. Some clarification would ease my worries on the fanart.

as far as what I would like to include, I want a whip that changes its attack property each time it is swung.
say for example miriam hits a target, it hits with the fire element, then when miriam hits it again, it hits with the slash element, hit it again; dark, etc.
The idea is that each attack randomly changes the element.

From the vids of the demo we can see that several monsters have different reactions to damage including death animations. Miriam herself also has different animations depending on how she receives damage (front, back, below)This likely isn't a full list, even of whats in the demo, but it shows the detail of what they are doing so far.

one of the secret rooms methods I've liked was the "guide a light beam through mirrors" trick. Although in this case since crystals are a theme we can have it be crystal prisms that split the light or make it change color!
