the dash is only a glitch when its done off a ledge. you go zipping across the screen when katana dashing off a ledge. its used to cross large gaps. and some clipping (dom key skip but going back into the hub area after skipping the key soft locks the game) the input for the attack is left right left right attack, (face the way you want obviously then attack) As a heads up, you can skip that first "left" It's simply Forward - Back - Forward - Attack. -> <- ->

You can also get stuck in chunks of debris in the Garden of Silence. Just do the katana dash toward the debris. Happens in the debris in the room after the room accessed via the iron maiden. Also happens on the bottom floor just as you enter the Garden of Silence. Once you are inside the debris, you can't get out.

Here is my video. This goes into more than that one does. I actually reference what he shows, but go into a more extreme example of it. Hmm, I still don't quite get it. I can do the move itself, but I am having trouble "glitching" it. Can it only be done in specific places? Or am I just doing the glitch wrong? Regardless, while the glitch is obviously not intended as it lets you clip through objects and reach areas you clearly aren't meant to yet (though I found no way to get past doors barring you from entering an area) the move itself clearly was, considering the fact that you don't just create something like this on accident and it wastes 40 MP. As for that comment in the video about the enemies freezing though, I am pretty certain that is intentional. It's clearly a take on that classic samurai move in movies and games where two people rush at each other and attack... and then everything is frozen for a second until one of them falls. The way the enemies freeze for a second until you finish the move, and then continue moving... or die if you killed them... is clearly a callback to that trope. One thing I will note though, at that in attempting to use this glitch I appeared to be really: i.imgur.com/JmUUOTs.jpgReally i.imgur.com/oPEAnId.jpgGood at: i.imgur.com/n60ogsN.jpgJamming myself: i.imgur.com/YGPnFdL.jpgInside Walls: i.imgur.com/bYd08Hm.jpgClearly I should not have access to this power.

I am sorry if some things were not said well in the video. I was tired after work. We have an excessive heat warning today and I had to spend WAY too much time outside.
Anyways, before I explain how to get the exploit to work, some information on the attack itself.
It is just forward, back forward, then attack.
If you do this on a ledge, one of two things will happen depending on how far you are off the ground. If you are close enough to the ground, you will effectively teleport to the ground beneath you and continue your slide. If you are too high, you will stop in midair and fall straight down.
Now to do the glitch, you have to be on a ledge high enough that you stop in midair when you do it normally. There are a few other places where you can do it in other ways, like on inclines. Be careful on those though, it really launches you then and can easily get you locked into a wall.
The next step is to do the attack.
Now when she starts charging the attack, press and hold up.
If done right, you should fly across through the air.
What makes me wonder if this is a true bug or not is that the mechanic of the attack changes completely. You no longer do damage and can get hurt by enemies, which also stops your movement. This implies that either you are supposed to be able to do this, or it is legacy code of a move they had intended for you to do.
Either way, as the end of the video shows, right now you can crash your game.

By exploiting the Dull Blade skill (back, foward and Attack) you can reach some areas that maybe it wasn't intended to be reached. Among these, is a room at the Galleon Minerva, the one at the upper floor right at the beginning (use Dull Blade Skill at the net you can actually reach, the one with the tutorial about jumping to reach the other side). At the upper corridor, there is a locked room (obviously locked due to being a demo) and another room that is open. Inside such room, there is a small area at the background where, with the boat swinging around, you can see some lines going up and down inside a black box, as if that specific part wasn't rendered. See the picture below. The area with the black red box i put using my awesome skills on Paint.

I went to show how to do it and where you could with the height requirement, and without pressing up, I was suddenly doing it constantly. Needless to say, I stumbled pretty good at that point in the video, but I just ran with it. It surprised me pretty good. It means there is another layer to this that is harder to reproduce since I havent seen it again.

After playing with this for a few days, and trying to find a commonality, I think I have. The places where Miriam does weird stuff, like disobeying how solid objects work with each other, happen where the wall is curved. For example, go to the Crate Boss room. At Crate Boss level (the floor), if you katana-dash to the right, you will climb the wall a little bit. Not enough to get off the top of the screen, mind you. However, if you push the Crate Boss against the wall (good luck, some of you, I'm sorry) and katana-dash to the right from atop that most immovable of objects, you will dash high enough to hit the top of the screen and end up in the next room to the right. This is also true of the starting room (curved wall on the left), the room above that with the statue (curved wall on the left, softlocks the game), the pillar demonstrated in seiya 's video (from the left, not from the right) and the room to the right of town where someone, I forget who, I'm sorry, managed to pop into the Save Room. The top of the building on the right has a curved roof, and getting above that has, in my experience, caused me to exit the save room (and shout at my computer and monitor for a couple of seconds -- I want to get into that save room). The part about being able to soar through the air like a graceful katana-wielding falcon has to do with there being no ground within a certain distance (a Miriam-height, I think) of the drop you are launching off of. And, I suspect the weirdness around slopes that is mentioned in the video has to do with that being a curved surface, which messes with the katana (see above). I really hope that these things get fixed because I do want to see the katana warp dash in the actual game, but these are some pretty serious bugs that can trap Miriam in walls and softlock the game.
