Some of you may remember I have promoted Bloodstained with the local gaming podcast: Good Ole Gamers. I've actually become really good friends with Lyle and Brandon since then. In fact I was just over Lyle's house last month.
It's crazy to think everything I saw in that house except for Lyle, his girlfriend Emerald and their cats and dog are just gone. Emerald works at a pet store and has amassed quite the heard of pets. I have pictures of me petting one of her skunks. Unfortunately, the skunks, bearded dragons, iguana, bird, fish, animals I probably didn't even know about... all of them burned to death.
Last year was really tough for Lyle because his grandfather who basically raised him died. He didn't take it well. On top of that they discovered his dad has cancer and are still dealing with that. 2017 was bad, but at 2 am or so on new years day faulty wiring caused an electrical fire in the attic of Lyle's house. The wind and the frozen fire fighting equipment issues that hampered the efforts of the fire fighters left nothing. Lyle is a collector of retro gaming hardware and horror memorabilia. A lifetime of serious game collecting that is gone. He loved all that stuff enough to make a podcast about it. It really was his passion. Lyle recently finished his grandfather's save file on the original Zelda gold cart. Now it's gone, and I know that was a special connection for him that can never be returned. Because they were renting and planning on moving they didn't get renter's insurance. They are having to start from scratch.
I'm going to give all I can. I'm going to show him there are people out there that care. I hope it inspires you to consider that as well. I've already had a few of the Bloodstained community tell me they are helping out. To you, thanks again. To all of you that do, from the bottom of my heart, thanks.

Mr. Welldone: I suggest giving your head a shake and understanding that this is a game, and floaty, glidey jumps are part of the whole shebang. Unless you'd rather have original Castlevania jumps where each subsequent jump more strongly becomes a 'leap of faith'.

Brainiac: On the Hidden Treats Leader Board: 1st Grandmaster, Warlord Ikai. 3269; purifyweirdshard 3070; purifyweirdsoul 3067; ikai 2921. Now 1st Grandmaster, Warlord Ikai. and purifyweirdshard have BOTH apparently split their accounts for more wall mac. I CALL HAX!

1st Grandmaster, Warlord Ikai.: Sorry Brainiac, i really wanted to change username... Not my fault that the system didn't shift the score username and instead, "mummified" it!

Galamoth: Strangely, I now want to see a Mac 'n Cheese monster wrapped in layers of linen. :3

ghaleon: not sure what you're talking about welldone, but the disdain in your tone is needless. I'm saying I literally notice her floating at the apex of her jump when I didn't before, which I thought ironic since in the previous version I heard people say
Jul 16, 2018 20:46:59 GMT -6
ghaleon: it was floaty
Jul 16, 2018 20:47:01 GMT -6
ghaleon: Furthermore, the purpose of the early release is for feedback. bristling at opinions you don't agree with is not something people should be in the habit of doing
Jul 16, 2018 20:48:11 GMT -6
Mr. Welldone: ghaleon: I hold no disdain nor any really strong, impassioned opinion when it comes to games. I honestly just talk this way. I recall that IGA's direct hand on the control scheme was praised in SotN, and it looks quite the same here.
Jul 17, 2018 13:57:45 GMT -6
ghaleon: "I suggest giving your head a shake and understand this is a game". I'm sorry but I can't reread that and not interpret disdain. Also, I thought the controls felt the same as SotN before in the previous version of the backer demo, but now less so
Jul 17, 2018 22:47:22 GMT -6
ghaleon: clearly you disagree, which matters not, but I just wanted to express my own experience on the matter is all.

ZeroSbr: More and more I'm thinking IGA should've stuck with sprites, even sub HD sprites. It would've looked a lot better.
Jul 18, 2018 12:40:07 GMT -6
CastleDan: i mean a lot of us think that but the game probably wouldn't be as deep as it was
Jul 19, 2018 9:16:45 GMT -6
CastleDan: not quite sure why they couldn't have juse done SOTN level visuals but with better effects?
Jul 19, 2018 9:17:01 GMT -6
CastleDan: doesn't strike me as any more expensive or time consuming as previous IGAVANIAS. If they did it then why would it be an issue now? Maybe im missing something
Jul 19, 2018 9:17:26 GMT -6
Carnack Ketral: They just wanted to try something new, i guess?
Jul 19, 2018 9:32:23 GMT -6
Mr. Welldone: Making games is an art. Artists get bored reproducing something (except lithographers, but that's something else). I'm content to let this be what it is. When artists get bored, their work fails.
Jul 19, 2018 9:48:08 GMT -6
azdrerios: CastleDan: You can't force creativity. It was quite obvious from Curse of Darkness that IGA really wanted to make a 2D vania game with 3D visuals. This is his chance to do just that. It's a new series, so new things are to be expected.
Jul 19, 2018 15:52:14 GMT -6
ZeroSbr: They haven't done the SotN art style since...SotN. No game has, really. Ecclesia got close, but it wasn't quite the same art style.
