I posted this comment on latest development update 10 Youtube video, but I hope reposting it here will increase it's chances of being seen by the Bloodstained team.
I think I figured out why I, including many others, feel her jump has always seemed 'off' or floaty. It could be that Miriam has the same jump animation regardless of whether she's jumping straight up from resting position, or when jumping forward while in motion. In contrast, Alucard from SotN has 2 separate jumping animations. One for jumping straight up, when his body is in the vertical position, head directly above his feet perpendicular to the ground. And a different animation when jumping forward, where he leads with his head, leaning forward and he body is diagonal to the ground. Which feels like he has momentum carrying him forward, unlike Miriam where she seemed to be floating every time she jumps because her body is always perpendicularly aligned with the ground no matter the trajectory.

To answer your concern however, this is definitely something that Iga is aware of and they're constantly tweaking and refining it, also keeping in mind how her jump interacts with other abilities further in game.
I also, personally at least, feel like some of that illusion of momentum you mention comes from the fact that Alucard's hair was animated in SOTN, and so far, Miriam's is not. And while I'm not able to promise that it will be, it's definitely something the team wants to do, it's just a matter of having the time and resources for it.

ghaleon: Plus people complained jumping was floaty before but I didn't notice, but I do now, it's like when you hit t he apex of a jump, you hover there for just long enough to notice, but not long enough to think that it's some kinda special power

Mr. Welldone: The controls emulate SotN, and no one complained there because of the undeniable magic of sprites in suspending our expectations of reality. 60 FPS and gorgeous polygonal characters, while beautiful, put cracks in that suspension of reality.

Mr. Welldone: I suggest giving your head a shake and understanding that this is a game, and floaty, glidey jumps are part of the whole shebang. Unless you'd rather have original Castlevania jumps where each subsequent jump more strongly becomes a 'leap of faith'.
