I always thought that the ways that enemy's died in the Castlevania games was fun, how each monster would die in its own way would add an extra bit of character to them. In a similar way I'm hoping that characters will burst into flames, dissolve or explode in Bloodstained, to add that extra level of interest to the character design - something that we didn't see too much of in the demo.
Should something like this be included in Bloodstained? and what are your thoughts on death animations in-game.

On the one hand, it would really add to development time, but on the other it would be really cool. Maybe not every enemy needs some super-special way to die, but at least a few memorable ones would be nice.
Honestly I think death animations are much more important than most people think. Some of my fave action games are so much more fun than they otherwise would be because of how fun it is to kill the baddies. One example is Jedi knight 2 jedi outcast and 3, jedi academy. I don't even like star wars as an IP believe it or not, and the enemies in that game are very limited in variety. but it's just tons of fun how they react and such, never gets old.
Return to Castle wolfenstein also had enemy trash that would be overdramatic in their deaths, and it was just too much fun. Gotta love it how they always charge straight towards the nearest cliff and fall down screaming no matter what angle you shot them at.
Fangamer Steve: Heh, if I had to take a guess, they've probably been suuuper busy with the trip to Croatia and the voice recording sessions (and all of the other magical game-making stuff they do).

purifyweirdsoul: Yeah, and the Croatia presentation and recording bits were like mini updates, to me, and we had a BCB just a few days ago, so...I think fans will be all right for a bit if they were hungry.

Lestaroth: I haven't written a long post in ages here. All done. *fools around now*

crocodile: To be fair (or play devil's advocate, I'm not sure what term to use), most backers have no idea the stuff at Croatia, voice actor recordings or the BCB happened. A formal update still has value. But yeah, I envision they are pretty busy in Japan.

purifyweirdsoul: Yeah, that kind of goes without saying. The more interested a fan is in the project, the deeper he will look for those things, otherwise they are probably content with the last one still for now, speaking most generally.
